The petal style bayonet Lens Hood is designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens.
The non-glare matte finish on the inside further prevents or limits lens flare.
No vignetting will show with the hood on. The hood can also be placed backwards over the lens for more compact storage.
The hood allows you to put on a Ф77mm filter and a Ф77mm lens cap.

I bought the 24-105 f4 second hand; the lens hood internal thread was cracked. This replacement is a 1:1 copy with same build quality with a little more character with the splash splatter design. I highly recommend!

This is so much cheaper than the OEM and does the same thing. Our original broke, and our first replacement was lost, and not wanting to pay ridiculous amounts for what is just a piece of plastic, decided to try this. And it works, for a fraction of the cost.

I didn't realize that this was made by Fotasy until I took it from the box & put it on my camera. Nonetheless, I appear to have gotten lucky in that it fits and clicks on securely.Materials feel cheaper so we'll see how long it lasts.

I expected a flimsy, cheap product based on the low price. Instead I received a good looking hood, with a sturdy build and a perfect fit on my lens. The button works just like a Canon original. A great value.
