what I needed

Don't make the mistake I made; to use this ripper on a tractor that has a three-point cat2 or cat1+2 hitch, you need an adapter, and that adapter had better be enormously strong. I first tried it with a cheap adapter which immediately bent and ripped. But now it's working fine with the Heavy Hitch adapter seen in the photo.UPDATE:I have just confirmed this puppy is strong enough to stop your tractor in low gear, if you hit a big rock. It stops my 52-horse compact tractor no problem, even with the plow-share attached.I'm using three pins to connect the shank to the hitch, rather than two, that might be important.

The over all design is good but a bit light on the material. I bent it shortly after I got it. Knew I would. Reworded a 1/2 in thick plate and added a angle iron stiffener and now it holds up to a 35 hp tractor. I was going in sediment rock. It busts up good. What I expected over all. If you are going through dirt it will work good.

I have a small tractor and needed a ripper to break up some hard ground we are landscaping. This worked awesome! We were able to get close to the garage and break up the ground easily. I would definitely recommend this a friend!

I rec'd my Sub-soiler/Ripper on Thursday! It is heavy duty! Much heavier than the cheaper models. On Friday I assembled the three pieces (a fourth- the potato plow was back ordered), and proceeded to tear into the ground with my BX1880 Kubota tractor with this tool. WOW!!!!! I was amazed as to how well this tears out the roots even set at the shallowest depth. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is clearing land & preparing that land to seed for gardening or a lawn.

Very well built. Heavy solid steel. Worked like a charm, tore through roots. It's more expensive, but well worth it over the hollow welded tube models. I don't see ever needing- but if I did, I'd by again in a second.

I needed to rip about 150' or so of trench for gutter drains, and the digging was really tough, just below the top soil there is a crust of hardened clay that is like rock... the ripper handled it quite well, and I got the job done because of this tool... the only casualty was one of the bolts holding the ripper bar in place snapped but we were able to replace it with a piece of hardened steel, and continued on... I really was impressed with the tough conditions and the way the ripper got the job done... I highly recommend this if you've got some trenching to do, and don't need a backhoe to get you to depth... My tractor is a sub compact Cat 0 size, and the ripper fit well.

Of course it didn’t do all the work of digging the trench out but it sure made it a lot easer to shovel the trench out to lay a PVC pipe for electrical work for my barn. I had my son in law stand on the three point hitch for add weight. I put the tractor in low and away it dug. It had rained in the past few days and the soil is clay and was very easy to trench. I did hit a few small roots but no problem. I don’t know how it would work in hard soil or rock but I would think that it would be ok taking smaller digs. Please notice in pictures it does not come with the red 3 point hitch. I already owned the hitch.
