I have had two of these and neither worked. Like another reviewer said it would not calibrate to pH 6. Frustrating and useless.

I have had three of these Meters. The first two lasted approximately one-year each, not bad given the price of the meter. Ordered a third meter and could not calibrate it to 6.86. Meter wanted to calibrate to 4.01. Remixed Calibration solution twice, I am positive I used 6.86 packet and was very careful in creation of calibration solution. Sent Meter back and received a replacement--same problem, meter would not calibrate to 6.86. Company provided a full-refund. So in my experience, good vendor with "not-so-good" product.

Won't calibrate. Cycles from zero to 32 pH, then repeats the cycle endlessly and never settles upon the pH of the solution. It's cheap enough to be considered a throw away for short term use.If you look at pH meters, on Amazon, you will see this exact model many times, but branded under a different label. In fact, this thing is probably made in one Chinese factory and labelled under many different importer names. So, treat it as junk and you'll be happy. If it works (most will), fine. If not, keep exchanging it until either you find one that just happens to work, or Amazon stops allowing the exchange. If that happens, go to one of the other labels that has the same thing.

As those of you who bought this meter from Risantic probably know you received an email from Rich Riley prior to it arriving thanking us for buying his product and to let him know if we had any problems with the meter. I thought this was a nice touch but as we all know saying and doing are two different things. Well I received my meter and I was trying to calibrate it. Water got inside the meter and the meter was ruined. I was going to just let it go but I kept thinking about the email Rich sent me and decided to let him know about the problem, not really expecting much. I emailed him at 7am central time and within 10 minutes he answered. He apologized for the problem. Said it was probably a defective meter and refunded my full purchase price and sent me a new meter free. It arrived in 2 days. This one is working well. It is so refreshing to see someone that really knows how to treat a customer. He went way above what we are used to and what we have come to expect from companies that frankly just don't care. Thanks Rich.

Hello All, I was asked by the company to take some time and provide a review of their product. Normally I would be turned off by this but not in this case. I got standard Amazon auto-confirmation email but before I received any further info from Amazon. Risnatec sent me a thank you email for my order and provided a link to their site for product care and user instructions. As well as a contact link which made me feel like I bought something that was worth a dam. I believe it is just their standard practice for all their orders. BUT THIS is something that is not standard or even considered with on-line ordering. It was reassuring that my purchase would meet what I expected of it. I got it on sale but what it listed for was not low priced. I work with plants and growing with some the ph is critical were mixing nutrients is concerned. You cant afford mistakes as the total investment in equipment, time and energy for a healthy reward is very involved. It was mentioned to me by them that they are factory calibrated but the time on the Amazon shelf. It is in your best interest to calibrate before first uses. Which is simple and I use clean fresh vinegar to lower as it is 2.4ph or medicine cabinet hydrogen-peroxide 3% that is 5.8 ph. I am very happy and would only add that I found it helpful to check my sample and get my reading. Turn unit off and rinse and dry well before you turn back off then immerse it adjusted sample. Worth the money spent and I will handle it properly and see how long it lasts. I like the fact that they are not out to take your money and run and made a point to provide service before it was even shipped. That says something, keep it green and...Peace .....

I have a spa and was getting tired of having to look at the colored strips and try to determine what shade it was. Plus, I was tired of having to buy strips so often. I found this meter for just a little more than the price of the strips. Thought I'd give it a try. The first time I used it I knew I had made the right decision. Stick the probe in the water and in a second or so it gives the exact PH number. No trying to decide if that color is indicating low, or high or just right. It is very easy to use, and the company has contacted me by email to make sure I was satisfied and to let me know I could ask them anything about the meter and they would answer and help me any way they could. So all in all this is a buy I am very glad I made. The product and the company are excellent and if you are tired of buying and using the test stripes like I was I would urge you to purchase this meter. You will be very happy you did!

So far, so good!!Perfect meter for the pool. So much better than using drops or strips. You do not need a color coordinated eye to use this meter. This meter calibrates quickly and easily. You can use deionized water or you can use distilled to mix the calibration buffer solutions. You should also keep on hand a small container of distilled or deionized water for rinsing the meter after use. If you are not going to use the meter for awhile, then it is suggested that a small amount of distilled or deionized water be place in the cap of the meter and stowed away.Have had the meter for about a week. Brought a sample to the pool company and the meters' accuracy was spot on with the fancy piece of lab equipment at the pool store. Time will tell how long the calibration lasts, the availability of buffer solutions. Will keep this post updated. Now, if I could only get a meter that measured chlorine, I would be one really happy pool owner.
