Heater shuts off after 3 minutes and never turned back on. I unplugged it, restarted it and shut off immediately.

I bought the RoadPro 12-Volt Heater Fan/Defroster to help defrost my windows in a cold climate. The device works, but it is only minimally functional. It did come with an extra fuse, which I have not had to use yet. That is the primary concern in terms of using a device meant to output heat from a 12v socket (amperage draw, actually). So, for what it does, and that it is not pulling enough current to blow fuses or cause electrical problems, this deserves four stars.I do, however, wish it were a bit stronger and faster (more helpful), but this is the nature of the device.Using it as a hand-held defroster would take a very, very long time. Interesting marketing gimmick, but not functionally useful in that sense of being usable.I put it going after starting my car, and let it be for a few minutes, and it definitely accelerates defrosting my windows.

Produces hardly any heat. No way it would defrost an entire front windshield. Used it as a hand warmed in the winter when my car had no heat before getting a new car. Would not recommend.

Bought one of these recently. It worked fine twice and I was initially happy with it - but then the fan stopped working. Fuse was OK, cigarette lighter switch was OK. Fan pulls a tenth of an amp at 12 volts but won't spin. Very disappointing to have it fail so soon.

Worked good for about 2 weeks. 15A fuse didn't blow but fan stopped working. Wire going into fuse holder and fuse melted.
