Great for adapting any standard propane 20lb+ tank device to a 1lb propane torch canister, perfect for camping, hiking, or for extra gas when the big tank runs out in the middle of cooking, has a positive ball shut out valve so tank can stay connected with no danger of leaking. Good value, decent quality, should last a while. Enjoy!

Simple, but solid with a quality heavy duty feel. I am sure this will last and last. It’s all you need to do the intended job, and a good price. That all makes a really good product that will probably outlive the purchaser and be used by his or her children someday.

The first tank I filled was leaking very slightly after filling -- presumably because it had sat in garage for a coupe of years after being emptied. I screwed the tank back onto the elbow again to press and release the valve in the tank and this time it sealed perfectly. My expectation was that without a machine to add pressure I would only half fill tanks, which is fine. Some reviews talked of freezing tanks prior to refill but this won't work when I am on the road in my camper-van. Here are a table of weights of tanks empty, new, and refilled, frozen and not, when being filled from an almost full 20lb tank at 9C:Tank 1: Empty: 378g; Filled from frozen for 30 sec: 610g, so 232g of gas; capacity 453g, so 51% filled.Tank 2: Empty: 414g; Filled at 9C for 50 sec: 637g, so 223g of gas; capacity 453g, so 49% filled.Tank 3: Empty: 406g; Filled from frozen for 120 sec: 640g, so 234g of gas; capacity 453g, so 52% filled. Conclusion: Can fill on the road from my 20lb tank when I can't freeze tank being refilled; give it a full two minutes to get the last couple of grams of gas into it. You have to refill tanks twice as often as when you used new tanks. Seems reasonable.

Works well provided you freeze the 1lb cylinder and invert the 20lb tank before attempting to use. If you don't freeze the small bottle you are trying to refill nothing will be transferred. It does take a little while for the propane to make the transfer but with the price of the small cylinders these days it is well worth it.

I looked at some videos and refilling the one pound lp bottles. They now go for $6.00 per bottle. Even in the off season. A year ago, you got two bottles for $6.00 during the off season. I have only used it once. It filled my bottle to the half way point in about 30 seconds. I don't yet have a tool needed to vent the bottle in order to add more lp, but that's not a big thing since I can refill any time I need to. I only use the bottle for the small grill at the rv. I may get the tool I need later as I can see myself advertising "Refills - $3.00 per bottle" while staying at campsites. People would get a great deal without having to go anywhere.I have used this twice now and it takes about 30 seconds to do the job. I do not have the tool to release the pressure on the 1 lb can, so after the first fill, it is about 50%. Stuck it in the rv freezer for and hour, and the gas compressed to about 20% full. I gave it another shot from the big tank and was at about 60%. I have it back in the freezer and will top it off tomorrow. Sounds like a lot of work, but it isn't. If you get the forecepts to release the pressure from the 1 lb can as you are filling it, you will not need more than one step. Hey, look at it this way, each time you are refilling, people get away from you and you can enjoy some quiet time.

I bought this to refill the pricey little 1 lb. bottles, and to ensure I always have bottles on hand for camping, or for power outages to use on a heater, lantern. and camping stove. But - it doesn't come with any instructions. Sure, it's easy to connect - one end on the big tank and the other on the 1lb. bottle - easy enough - but how does it work? Seriously. First I tried to go to the company website, but there isn't one. I wound up Google searching for answers, and watching a couple youtube videos. I weighed a partially full bottle then "filled" it, with both bottles in the upright position. Then weighed the bottle again - it had only filled up a few grams. Some youtubers insist the bottles must be on their sides as you are actually trying to transfer the liquid propane (as opposed to just the gas) so I tried it that way - again only added a few grams. And yes, I opened the on/off valve. I have no idea how much propane was transferred, but it was minimal at most. I have no confidence that this device did what it is supposed to do.

I filled 3 empty 1 lb cylinders in 10 minutes (they had been in the freezer overnight) they each filled with about 10 oz. propane which is fine with me.Reason for 4 stars, all 3 cylinders where hard to screw in, I was afraid they would cross thread but they didn't. The cylinders all thread easily to my two torches.I got the adapter with the valve, well worth the extra money if you are filling multiple cylinders at a time.

I’m using this to refill small camp tanks for a table top heater. Very easy to connect to my grill tank and fill. Definitely pick one with the on/off valve. Gotta have it
