From furnaces and boilers to rooftop heaters, infrared burners, unit heaters, water heaters and many other types of HVAC equipment. The 41-400 Series Hot Surface Ignitors are made of high-purity recrystallized silicon carbide (Crystal) which combines physical and thermal strength with stable electrical properties. The 41-400 Series are designed to reach ignition temperature(s) within 17 seconds. They have 18-gauge nickel chrome lead wires embedded and metalized in place for maximum holding strength and electrical conductivity. The lead wires are also enclosed with a special high-temperature fiberglass insulation providing total electrical protection.

The one That looked new and the inside paper box was not crushed worked great. The other one (that Amazon used a paper envelope to ship something this fragile vs a box) looked used and the pper box was crushed and thus I returned the 2nd one.The product itself, however, fit the original pigtail connector and worked great. Whoever shipped this needs to do so in a box, not a light paper envelope! One star off for that and that I had to return the other one.

I received the part today and immediately installed it. The furnace is back up and running perfectly. There were no ignitors available locally which explains the need to order online a wait over a week for it to arrive. With the relatively low price along with the lack of local availability, I ordered a spare and have it sitting on top of the furnace in case of another emergency. I also ordered a spare flame sensor. It's cheap insurance against cold weather with no heat!

The ignitor shipped to my home within 2 days. The install is very easy and only takes about 5 minutes to complete. I also cleaned my sensor off while the unit is down to prolong its use. There seems to be a flaw in the original ignitor close to the middle that creates a small hole. I would highly recommend this product.
