This coupler is designed for use with Robinair Enviro-Guard hoses to allow access to service ports on automotive R-134a A/C systems. Quick-connect design has an integral safety sleeve that protects against injury and refrigerant loss if the coupler is disconnected under pressure. The compact design easily fits into tight quarters - especially handy for retrofits. 6-ball coupler design provides a more stable grip on the fitting than lesser 4-ball designs. They work ok but I want valves that can be closed in 1 or 2 turns. These seem to have to turn many full turns & it's difficult/resistant to turn. Can't always tell if it's closed fully. NOT RECOMMENDED!

I’m glad Robinair considers the need to replace these connectors. I’ve had connectors that were crimped onto the hose, and the whole unit is wasted if the connector starts failing. Easy to use, but make no mistake, these can fail just like any other tool. High side more often than low side.

I had a hard time trying to connect it to my 2003 Mazda Protege ac connection. I had to use tremendous amount of force to eventually lock it onto the suction connection. Once connected, it sits solidly and did not leak. It was well built. I give 2 stars because of difficulty with connection.
