Luna agate is a variety that exhibits a lace-like pattern with forms such as "eyes".(Thus this Moon-Like attribute is named "Luna". Luna Agate Formation began approximately 40 million years ago. The volcanic activity is responsible for the occurrence of Agate. This rough come from the Hills in New Mexico. It is predominantly creamy light blue, with other colors of white, gray, and faint blue/lavender. Some examples may include clusters of mini-quartz crystals. Luna Agate exhibits a Rough Appearance: Irregular geometric shapes,pock mocked, cratered & usually with calcite impressions all over.See images above for random examples.This bag weighs 8 oz. and will contain an average of 2-4 nice large sized pieces. I should have known better, but mine came all small and all almost 100% white. I was hoping for at least one larger one, with mine all being around an inch. I say "you get what you paid for"; hence 3 stars. What you don't get however., is anything close to the pictures and description. These were like pieces found broken on the floor of a shop.
