It is similar to vinyl cloth, and yes the image is not very high resolution but it works in my 65 gallon tank very well where it is not seen close up..

I love it. Beautiful! I had a smaller three gallon tank but this was easy to cut to size and attach using the strong double sided clear tape provided. I will definitely be looking at these for my other aquariums.

I like that this is made of fabric. It will definitely hold up to being moved occasionally.The colors are vivid.Very happy with this.

LIKES: easy to install, instructions were very helpful, I like it better than a hard plastic background. DISLIKES: none to report. HOW USING: I installed this on the back of a 10 gallon tank that is a part of an aquaponics setup. RECOMMENDATION: Yes. It is a nice alternative to the classic hard plastic backgrounds that eventually break. I would recommend reading the directions if you have never installed this type of background before. I recommend ironing (according to directions) it. Ironing takes a little more time but it definitely makes a difference in how it looks.
