Adapter fit perfectly in my 1 1/4 receiver and gave good stability to the bicycle carrier.

This is a solid and well built adapter.The 1.25" portion is solid (see first picture), however I had to return it because the holes for the pin did not align with my receiver, and there is no way you can drill thru the solid metal to make it fit.Even if you did, the larger hole will make the adapter rattle a lot.

I had to also order a 1/2" hitch pin on Amazon, I didn't realize it until after I received it that a 5/8" pin which is all I had and what most stores carry are too big. That information would have been helpful.The receiver itself was good quality.
