Centre hole holds pencil in perfectly centred position, and notches for offset marking allow scribing of off-centre lines, or lines near the edge of large panels. Offset notches account for the tip width of a sharpened pencil for an accurately scribed line. Integral magnet allows easy storage on ferrous metal surfaces. Offsets: 1.5mm, 3.1mm, 4.7mm, 6.3mm, 7.9mm, 9.5mm and 12.7mm (1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2").

Great bit of kit. So simple and well made that it’s not really worth making your own. Standard pencil is a tight fit which aids accuracy.

I wanted this tool for easy and precise marks on my woodworking Projects. The tool itself is fine and very practical, and I would give it 5 stars, if it was not for the fact that markings on the tool are in inches - not mm. When I buy a tool in EU, I expect it has metric markings on it unless it says otherwise. Hence, only 2 stars from me!

Wonderful piece of kit! - so simple but works a treat - to get a straight line down a piece of wood/material (I marked out a center line on some one inch square metal box section in one instance using a dartboard type dart as the marking device instead of a pencil, as in doing the same on wood) and is a joy to see without the usual messing about as it's so, so simple to use and quick of course - and if a larger size was available I would buy that as well! 5 Stars no probs!
