My boots get a massive amount of use and abuse and I usually wear them until they are falling apart. I have always had good luck with Rockport and Rocksport. These lace up and tie easy enough and seem to fit just fine; but, I’m having to wear slightly thicker than normal more wool socks to eliminate the heels sliding up and down and rubbing holes in my usual cheap white cotton socks - this is probably just a break in issue or a crappy old socks issue. These boots look good and feel good - that’s all.

My husband wanted an attractive, dark brown hiking boot for gentle hikes and walks in the Pacific Northwest. He had a similar pair he bought in 1996, and they had completely worn out. So I searched high and low and found these. Only time will tell, but these fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable. He could wear them without blistering on the first day. No breaking in required. They do have a soft sole which are whisper quiet on hardwood floors which makes me think they will not last terribly long, but he said that for the price I paid, just under $100, he would not mind if they needed replacing in a year or two. He loves this color and style, so I may go ahead and buy him a backup pair or two since no other company still carries this design. So glad I thought of looking at Rockports. These look great and my hubby loves the comfort. If you were hesitating on these, go ahead and buy them. Beautiful pair of boots with what looks like great quality leather for the price.
