For all of you looking at this product who are familiar with the RVL series from Rockville you already know that these 6x9 mid-bass/low frequency woofers are one of the most powerful 6x9 speakers ever created! These speakers can handle a lot of power and they produce an incredible amount of lows and mid-bass. These are very unique because they can play frequencies of a mid-bass speaker and a woofer. This is a distinct advantage over a pure mid-bass speaker that can not play woofer frequencies. If you want to have the best sound quality or if you want to win competitions then you need these speakers. These woofers will play frequencies that your subs can not hit and also play frequencies your midranges can not hit.. Most mid-bass drivers can not handle even 25 % as much power as these. In order to build the loudest 6x9 speakers on the market the Rockville engineers had to create these with the ability to handle more bass than many subwoofers. They created these monster 6x9 speakers with 2" voice coils (usually only subs have 2" voice coils), and double stacked 60 OZ Magnets (most subs have magnets half this size).
These weigh in at 9 pounds each! These are heavier than many 12" subwoofers! These can easily handle a high powered external amp. These are rated with 150 watts RMS each, however, they can handle even more than that from our testing. These are rated with strict standards. When you buy products from a brand like Rockville, JL Audio, or RE Audio, you get way more power than comparing it with products from other brands which are rated with similar power. For example, we have compared a Rockville 150 watt RMS speaker VS a Pyle 250 watt RMS speaker and the Rockville was twice as loud even though the Pyle is rated with more power.
You will not be let down, we guarantee! Usually, in competitions, the one thing missing from some of the top vehicles is having mid-bass. With these speakers, you will be able to hear the mid-bass loud and clear, even if you have incredibly loud bass! You can install these in any 6x9 location, or you can install them in an empty 6x9 enclosure.

This is a 6x9 straight up sub woofer and it pounds! I have it hooked up to a 250 watt alpine single channel amp and it performs just Like a sub. It's awesome!

I just picked two of these in my 2009R 56 mini Cooper and for being 6x9’s these absolutely SLAM.Legit there is as good as a couple of 10 inch woofers, very very impressed and they’re beefy as hell.I’m using a SKAR 350.1 D amplifier to push these woofers. And it does a very good job.Of the amp and the subs were super cheap and they really do the job for what they are.I had to cut out the metal 6 x 9 slots in my car just a little bit to get good fitment. Not a big deal I sealed up both side enclosures (expanding foam) in the rear side panels and have pseudo sealed enclosures for the speakersI can’t believe people are giving less than five star reviews because the speakers didn’t come with instructions for them…. If you don’t know something, google it or find a YouTube video explaining what to do. Don’t take away stars due to your own ignorance.I can’t speak for anyone else, but if you want a cheap easy base solution get these bad boys and look at SKAR amplifiers. That being said if you don’t know what you are doing when it comes to hooking up car stereo equipment properly get some help. If this equipment is set up correctly and properly right from the start, I guarantee it’s gonna last a long time.I’m tired of hearing from customers who saying stuff like “ the speaker blew up after two months” or they fry their amplifiers because they buy super cheap and wrong size power and ground cables and do ghetto installations and wonder why all their equipment burned up…I’ve been doing car audio for quite some time, and again for what you’re paying for. It’s a damn good product in the sound is amazing. They sound crisp and clear.

Without specs, you can tell how to push the speaker with what amperage nor enclosure. I install the speaker in the Rivian subwoofer enclosure on my RT.. Replaced the factory 6 x 9 sub. It sounds OK but if I had the specs, I can probably apply better amperage possibly change the enclosure. It’s currently in the ceiling enclosure. Sounds like the speaker should be ported.

It came defective, and these are the new covers. Just as 💩💩💩💩 as the original. I truly believe they came box already opened. When buying these subs, please stay away from HoMart Group for any purchases. They all of a sudden ghost you when you try and contact them. Shame, because they sound good. And when you contact Rockville, they'll tell you it's on HoMart to honour the Warranty, but remember????? They ghost 👻 u.Thanks Chris

I spent 2 whole days just to mount these on the rear deck of my car (pair). They did not fit properly in the 6x9 hole even though I used the provided plastic shell for them. I had to dremel and angle grind off a bunch of the plastic on my car to do this. I used some 1 inch thick Air Conditioner insulation underneath the plastic mount to get it to mount securely as the speaker was too wide for the hole. The screw holes did not line up either. That said and done (frustration) they are working great. Another frustration was that the screws pictured here on Amazon were not included. This sucked because nothing is open on Christmas when I installed them. I had to tear up my house in a search for screws. Be prepared to spend a long time fabricating things to be able to mount these. I will amplify them with a rockville db11 in a few days and see how they should properly sound.Update: The amp really brings these alive. They are insane for rear deck speakers. The window insulation under the sub or a baffle is a good idea. Very nice I'm impressed. They are very powerful, sounds like they are tearing up the car lol

Time to give this subwoofer a proper review! It is absolutely perfect for my application. I have a '91 Toyota MR2, and extra space for a sub is nearly non-existent. I installed this in a 0.3cu/ft sealed box filled with acousta-stuf. The sub sits behind my seat and perfectly complements my Alpine 6.5" component system.I appreciate that it is sold individually. I only needed/had room for one, so buying a pair would have been a waste. It does come with a metal grille, perfect for protecting it from random things I might tuck behind my seat.I hope to make a larger custom box to let this sub really stretch its legs. Even in its currently smaller box, it hits plenty hard and the clarity is well defined on punchy parts.I plan to buy two more in hopes to replace the subs in the doors of my Grand Cherokee. Not that they're bad - it's that these subs do a fantastic job. The sub does have a large double stacked magnet, so mounting depth will be a concern. If you're worried about this sub being a waste of money, look at the TS parameters - It is CEA-2031 compliant. Build your box around the parameters to meet your needs. It doesn't have the surface area of a 10", so don't expect the same volume and it's not going to go as low as a 12"; but what it is, is one kick ass 6x9 and I'm glad I bought it!
