This is a high quality and flexible unit. I use it to control simultaneously my Boss RC-505 loop station as well as my external synths. I've had to add a few external foot switches (Boss FS-7s) to get it to do everything I need, but with those additions it works flawlessly. I can program some pedals to send CC messages to control the loop station and produce effects on my synths, and other pedals to send program changes to my synths. And I can quickly switch (either via two pedals on the FC-300 or another external foot switch) between the control mode (which makes all the pedals send CC messages) or the patch mode (which allows me to mix and match program changes and CC messages). The patch mode even allows me to transmit notes to my external synths, so I can play background chords (or even percussion sounds) with my feet. And it is built like a tank, so I expect it will outlive me. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is that it takes some work to program. Roland should have added a software editor to program the controller—and without that it takes time an patience to program. But the controller works great.

This is a superb product - robust and versatile. It allows to go do some amazing things with the rack mounted effects unit. Only minor draw back is that you do need a basic knowledge of MIDI to use it properly, and a fairly in depth knowledge to get the best out of it. Great piece of kit though; really pleased I bought it.

Really fine and sturdy pedalboard. Amazing what you can do with this thing.I have a MIDI signal splitter which allows me to control both the Roland GR-55 and Ableton together using this board. Works like it's supposed to!

Solid piece of equipment. Works nicely with according to midi standards. As usual, quality products from Roland. Wish it was a bit less expensive though, otherwise 5 stars. I am using mine in CC mode (to send midi events) with an iRig Pro / Amplitube on an iPad. Don't stub your toe on it if you play barefoot (ouch!)
