The convertible top latches failed on my 2003 BMW 330ci. These arms had a good price so I ordered them. The parts seem to be pretty well made, but....They are not made right!!! First, the little piece of steel that is supposed to be embedded in the plastic on the driver's side that triggers the hall effect sensors is not there! They molded the receptacle but didn't bother to put in the little bit of steel. Okay, no problem, I will break it out of the old one and put it into the new. Nope. The piece of steel is 0.15mm bigger than they made the slot. Also, the slot is not deep enough. A little work with the grinder later and the little piece of steel has been made small enough to insert and is flush with the plastic like the old one. Reassemble the entire mechanism and test it. It jams! Right where the little piece of steel is, hits the frame of the latch. What?!? Turns out they made the whole piece of plastic just a little too tall in that area. Next follows disassembling, file it down some, reassemble and test, about 12 times until it worked properly. Tedious.So, you get what you pay for. These parts were WAY cheaper that others out there, and there is a REASON!Buy only as a last resort and know that you will likely need to cut and fit it to get it to work on your car.Oh, and the arms are not yellow cadmium finish like the originals. Hopefully they won't rust.
