Corde un peu longue, mais j'aime le produit au final.

I bought these just for the beads. The cord is some sort of chinese junk and is not military spec in any way, shape, or form. The set is perfectly functional as is, I just wanted something different. The reason I use these Rothco beads specifically is because I can thread two strands of genuine 550 paracord through them to make a really snug set of pace beads I don't have to worry about drifting on me. The two strands are tight, but if you burn the ends and pull them into a tapered shape you can make them fit.The beads also have a squared off sort of teardrop shape to them, so you can feel them by hand without having to see them and determine how your beads are oriented. If you're navigating somewhere quietly and your beads are in a pocket to keep them from rattling, this is important. It also means you can easily grip and slide the beads even with gloves on.I use Atwood Rope Company's paracord and a few snake knots to make my own sets and these are much more functional than the standard ones.

They do the trick but just to big of beads and long of thread. Thought it was smaller when purchased but none the less does the trick

Good stuff. I like the neutral colour of this set. The beads fit the cordage well, they won't slide down by mistake - it requires your manual input as it should.

Thought about making these with our Federation of North-American Explorers troop so bought one as an example. Good quality at a good price. Was fun to make our own to replicate! (Instructions are all over the internet...)

Although a person can go to a local craft store in order to make their own pace counting beads, I'm glad that I bought these ones because they are bigger and sturdier. Besides for its practicality for land navigation, it also makes whatever you attach to it look pretty intimidating!

this is a quality pace counter, but it is over priced as far as I can tell.If you are okay with the price point this will work well for the task at hand.

I got this for the event the electric grid gets fried and want to navigate anyway. The electricity is still on, so I haven't used it and can't comment to that (but not much can go wrong). It looks well made and will do as it is suppose to. I was going to make one, but the gas to go get the beads would cost more. So, I shelled out the funds, but I took one star in that the cost is kindda high for the materials and technology involved. Maybe if I find a bead shop some time, I'll get some beads and make a few for my kids (I got a pattern now and some paracord). The quality is such that I would recommend, if you are considering such an item for measuring distance traveled.
