We caught fish with this bait holder. When we caught a second fish with this bait holder the holder broke. Not sure if the fish was too big or not.

Writing a review for a fishing lure (calling it a lure just for the rating) is tricky because some people will question whether or not it caught fish. In my opinion and especially when fishing for salmon there are too many other factors to give all the credit or blame to the lure for catching or not catching. For the sake of this rating I will stick to just the quality of the product and that it does what something like this should be doing. From a quality standpoint it is top notch. The herring is held in securely by the points inside the clip and then there is a metal band the squeezes the entire end down. The only way the herring is coming off is if a fish grabs it but at that point the fish should also be on your hook. The most important part is that the herring is getting the correct spin, which it does. I was very pleased to see that the spin was neither too fast or two slow.In my case the first time I used it I did catch a fish but it wasn't a salmon. It was a sand dab and you can look on the internet to see what kind of fish it is.I would buy this again and in fact have in other colors. How I rate products:When I give a rating to a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below.1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four star rating2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star (5 Stars)3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star (3 Stars)4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product receives a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one star

No more messing around with tooth pics or losing the plastic pins... simple as using a clothespin. Not sure I believe in all the "e-chip" stuff though.

I have used them before and really like them. They are better than the regular bait heads.

Snapped my 8' vhf antenna at the base. Used this to repair. Still holding up after a long drive and rough seas 1 trip. Radio works great still as well

This is a nice alternative for the Rotary Salmon Killer, but the hooks are way too weak to catch salmon. I caught an 8 to 10# Coho on this and it straightened the hook. I was able to re-bend the hook by hand easily, realizing the hooks are a cheap deal. I re-tied with proper salmon hooks and look forward to trying it again next weekend.

I just got these today and I am fishing this weekend and get to put these to the test. Heard lots of good thing about these. Hope it's all true.
