Had never heard of chicago screws till I was searching for rivet guns, machines, etc. these are super strong, and work in applications where riveting may not be best way to connect 2 pieces of something together. I expect to use with leather products and very heavy finished sewing product.

I bought these to replace screws on a belt I made years ago. They were so easy to put in & much easier than the hammered ones I originally used. The color was just as pictured.

Received the items in excellent condition. As others have pointed out, I found that the screws tended to be a little loose when screwed in to the bases; something a little bit of glue or LOCTITE should solve. I also found that a few of the screw heads were a little crooked (not exactly square with the bases). Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. I might add that they offer prompt and reliable customer service, in English, which is a distinctive plus when ordering items from Chinese suppliers.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting to be very satisfied with these studs/Chicago screws. But the price was low and they were offered on Prime, so I figured I'd give them a shot. I am so happy I did. These are a whole lot higher quality than I expected. Solid construction and seem to be really durable. I've gone through about a dozen of them so far (I've been using to attach leather straps/handles to bags) and none have been defective.I typically use a tiny dab of a glue like H3000 on the screw back rivets used on my bags, but I skipped that step on the rivets used on the prototype bag I've been carrying for the last week or so (it's a big bag and I carry a lot in it) and when I checked the rivets last night, they were all still as secure as the day I installed them. That said, these have passed the test and will be used on the bags I make and sell - although, I will probably use glue for a more permanent attachment on the bags for my customers.

These Chicago screws are flat and about 2/3 the size of those sold by Tandy Leathercraft. At first I was wondering how well they would work, but now that I have used them I find that I like them better for those very reasons. They enhance the way the leather pieces are fastened together, and by using them instead of rivets allow my leather projects to be adjustable (if need be). Their flat style makes it less likely anything will snag when other pieces are slide across them, and I think they give my work a more professional appearance overall.

Made of steel, plated with something, half of them would not thread together, I had to clean the threads with a tap. These may rust, as ferrous metal usually does. I thought they were brass, but maybe I didn't look very close to really find out. Steel is real, its strong, so if you use them on leather that does not get sweat or moisture, probably no issues, but steel is super strong so you wont break them I imagine. Once threads are cleaned up and working, they seem like a pretty good quality. The gold color is nice too, not sure how many microns of plating it is. You will get flakes of gold when installing them, seems normal for such a plate system. Maybe made over seas in Asia?

Love these chicago screws, and they're fantastic value for the price. The bronze finish is just what I needed for my crafting project, and they attach easily with a philips head screwdriver. Sizing was exactly as described, and they've proven to be very durable with age.
