Absolute garbage! Markings don't line up to center. And the part that is supposed to indicate center isn't even mounted center on the rod which makes it completely useless. 100% don't recommend if I could give zero stars I would totally disappointed

It works to roughly find center. These will not find the exact precise center. So, if you need to make something that has to me machined very precise, then it would be best to use other means. But it don't hurt to have one for getting a quick center find.

Seems like a good tool. Simply made, not complicated yet in the picture you can see it came bent. Not a problem for me to straighten but I shouldn’t have to! Just tired of getting junk.

I guess if you spend eight bucks for a center finder you get what you pay for. My center finder arrived with Rusty parts, other parts look like they've been deburred with a chainsaw. I don't even know why they bothered putting Chrome over a trash part like that. The accuracy was at least 0.010 of an inch off. This part would be great for finding the center of a dowel in your drill press. This is not even something I would use as an emergency backup without some serious reworking and modification. The rivet is so tight that the portion that goes over the round work piece barely moves. The rivet was rusty, and parts where the horrible chrome plating was actually super thin has started to rust too. To sum it up this is the cheapest lowest cost lowest quality piece of garbage you could possibly buy as a machine tool center finder. You would be better off using the center finder that came with your ruler than trusting this thing. This thing is an embarrassment to be seen in your toolbox or workbench. Unfortunately it doesn't cost enough to justify all the trouble to send it back. This is how they make their money!I would have gotten more fun and less pain out of this whole experience if I would have just burned the $8 on my back porch at least then I would have gotten a light show, and still got exactly the same value for what I spent.
