About this item

  • These are the best fret pullers available, the new narrow 5mm width jaws work better than other fret pullers on tighter radius fretboards.
  • The jaws were precision machined, no gaps, nothing assembled incorrectly, the jaws slid under the fret and pulled it out with no problem (go slowly of course).
  • The cutting edge of this fret pulling pliers is also processed by a special process and has a very high strength, with the shallow angle of the jaws, you will wedge the frets out of their slots slower and have less fingerboard chipping.
  • Black ergonomic soft PVC gripped handle, comfortable grip and non-slip, easy to fit in hand and continue to use, the incision is smooth, alloy steel material, worked like a charm.
  • Professional maintenance tool fret puller, use these as fret pullers and not as fret snips, remember these are for pulling frets and not cutting, do not use to cut fret wire.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
New Precisely ground 5mm narrower jaws for working with tighter fingerboard radius.
Used in a variety of different applications, including trimming the edge of binding/veneers and soft metals.
The precision thin, flat jaw tips make it great for getting under frets. The pliers are elbow-shaped, it can operate on the cutting surface near the plane. Suitable for pulling up fret for protect fingerboard. It does a great job of pulling frets with little to no damage to the fretboard.
The surface has been blackened and rustproof, beautiful, high-end and durable.
Overall Length approx.118mm/4.65", excellent quality fret pliers for guitar bass violin etc.
In order to pull frets cleanly, it is recommended you use a soldering iron to heat the fret wire. This will help soften the fingerboard and loosen any glue that might be holding the frets.
After heating the fret, you will be using the pliers to pinch the frets out and not pull the frets. Each squeeze of the pliers will wedge the fret wire slowly out of its slot. Make sure that the face of the pliers stays in contact with the fingerboard at all times. Continue walking the pullers from one end of the fret to the other while slowly squeezing the pliers to remove the fret wire. Go slowly so you don’t have any chipping problems.
NOTE
The color of the item may vary slightly due to photography and your own computer.

worked perfectly to SAFELY remove frets from the sound hole to the 12th fret so I could install them from frets 1 thru 6. The pullers are not wide but they are well ground unlike the wider pullers I have seen. I have a 1995 Takamine acoustic guitar and can't afford a full fret job ($400, man that's a rip off folks - do it yourselves unless you have a $3K instrument or better and want the best resale price). I wanted to make my guitar play like new and so, I removed frets and re-installed them in a lower position on the neck. No need to level the frets - they fit perfectly. No fret buzz, nothing but goodness and doing it myself cost me $10 for a fret hammer, $10 for the fret puller and a small tube of super glue to glue in the frets. $20 vs $400 ... seriously.

Worked surprisingly well. Took only a few minutes to get 24 frets off. A soldering iron heating the frets would make chipout less likely, but I got decent results without doing so.There was a small bur on the tip that I ground off before use to prevent gouging the fretboard unnecessarily.

Seem to be made well. The jaws are very strong. They are small enough to fit in hand comfortably and to maneuver around while using one hand

This is NOT a fret nipper, but it works well for certain tasks. I just used it to remove a few frets from an old Squier with ease and no chip-out—though the frets weren’t glued in. If you're dealing with a varnished fretboard or glued-in frets, you’ll need your soldering iron and a sturdier puller. Be warned: attempting to nip anything with these will ruin them. That said, it’s a well-made little tool for the right job.

It looks like it will do the job. Haven't had a free moment to even try it

The tip of the pliers that should slide under the fret crown is very blunt. I have to squeeze quite hard and the with a "snap" the jaws finally go under the fret violently and cause damage to the fretboard.

I’m working on an older (new to me) Harmony arch top. About half of the fret crowns were worn to point that I couldn’t play it. These fret pliers were used with chip plate protectors from another AZN vendor. I was able to easily get under the crown, and slide the chip stopper plate under the slightly raised fret wire. Rock the pliers a little to raise the fret, advance the plate, move the pliers, etc. Easy work, there isn’t any visible damage to the fret board. I don’t think they are strong enough to cut fret wire, consider using side cutting pliers for that.

Can't think of any dislikes, they work well. Replaced frets on an old squire tele. Fretboard had been sprayed,so I cut around edge of frets first. The pliers easily got under the fret to free them up. Good product.

Super bien petit maniable ! Que du positif pour ma part j'ai retiré des frets vintage sur ma les paul sans soucie ! Il faut toujours bien préparer et protéger la guitare bien sûre mais ils ont facilité mon travail !
