It's to look like his energy ray powering up. The lights and fan are all run from the same unit, which is attached to the item and plugs into any electrical outlet. There are also 4 ground stakes with tie cords to attach to anchor loops sewn around his waist to secure him to the ground when displayed outside.

Rcvd Used/Returned item. Box had been opened and Godzilla just shoved back in there. I know why they returned it. This Godzilla has two left arms. No kidding. See photo. I would return it but when I deflated him he fell slowly over sideways and died like he was in the original movie! So he has character and I will keep him with his two left arms. But still not happy about getting someone elses return.
