Display reads engine current RPMs , Help adjust engine idle
- Accurately records your RPMs when the engine is running.
- Can be programmed for different engine firing patterns,9 stroke settings and one timing: 1P1R, 1P2R, 2P1R, 3P1R, 3P2R, 4P1R, 5P2R, 6P1R, 8P1R, hour (time only, no RPM measurement).
- Tachometer displays from 0-20,000 RPM with 10 RPM resolution.

Not as easy to use as more expensive units but is accurate once you get figured out don't loose instructions cause you will need to set cylinder numbers till you get rid of it

Installed on my Troy-Bilt 2017 Bronco tractor. Involved some irillng to route wire from instrument panel to spark plug. Nothing big just be careful to avoid hitting switches and wiring behind instrument manel and to rout meter wire away from exhaust.

Like all these digital devices today you need to push one button .... Then another or both at the same time. This works the same way but Isn't really that hard to figure out. Easy install if you can get to your spark plug. I cut the line shorter and wrapped it 5 times and it works great. It is so important to know hours on a generator or when it requires service and oil change. This does the trick.

Chainsaw manual said it should idle at 3300 put this on and it read 3330 that’s accurate enough for me

I purchased to track the hours on my new Toro Timemaster 30” self propelled mower, so that I know when to change oil. I am a handy homeowner.Installation is not difficult. The difficult part is figuring out where to route the wiring for the cleanest appearance possible while ensuring no interference, rubbing, or burning. I have a very clean install and a friend couldn’t find the wiring. My only minor complaint about the install, the double-sided mounting tape failed after my second mowing even though I had cleaned both surfaces with 99% isopropyl alcohol and thoroughly dried before application. I had some 3M double sided tape around so used it and it seems to be holding.Accuracy : I believe the hour meter is about right though I haven’t put a stopwatch to it yet. I’m nearly certain the RPM indication is incorrect and reading too high. I have removed one more coil from the spark plug lead and it still seems too high, reading as much as 4500-4800 RPMs. I will have to try removing another coil.Overall, happy with it as it can track the hours which was my primary concern given the price of the mower, $1500 after taxes.Update - months later I adjusted the windings… and now the hours are accumulating too slowly. I will need to play with it again. What a pain to find the sweet spot.

It works timings good got to get the wire wrapped around the spark plug the right amount of times and takes a lot of playing around to get it to where I think it should be and it's not precise. The wire is kind of short for a go-kart, probably we're good on a mini bike.

I picked this up to install on my seasonal generator. I want to keep track of the total number of hours used so that I can change the oil in the right intervals. Installation was easy and the unit works well for my needs. The cable is a bit too long for a regular generator but I hid it under the cover.Overall satisfied.

So, I needed a tach for my boat, reconfiguring the layout lead to a change in weight, this meant I needed to change props to keep the RPM in the proper range in my engines case 4500 to 5500 rpm. This prevents over rev and prevents lugging the engine. This tach let me know that I needed to drop 2" of pitch to reach the ideal 5500 rpm for the engine. For those who don't know... 2" of pitch is approximately 400 rpm change if using same material same brand and model propeller and just changing pitch.The hour meter function is convenient as it lets me follow the recommended service intervals easily instead of just making a guess at it. This is important for me in the summer when we spend whole days trolling for tuna.
