The planks are joined together by a coated wire so it is all one piece. It feels a bit flimsy but works as decorative edging as long as there is not much stress applied once it is in place.

This is not meant for anything other than soft soil. I live in Arizona. We do not have soft soil. I thought about sending it back but I added rigidity by nailing a piece of strapping along the back side to keep it uniform. I also dug a small trench to minimize hammering. I ordered three long strips and a shorter one to cover the 40-foot run. The shorter run had the same dimensions as the longer runs but the ends were cut differently. The final product looks attractive. I would recommend you order something different if you do not want the extra work and materials needed to make a straight and attractive perimeter. The material overall was okay. I had a couple of of staves that were defective.

We were going to get bricks to edge but it was going to cost over $3k and weight thousands of pounds. We got these instead and had the project down within a couple hours - so easy and looks great!!!! I cannot recommend these enough…If we good out original plan it would have taken weeks and I think these look better!!
