This 120 Amp RV Power Converter Battery Charger does exactly what it’s supposed to... once you get it installed. The instructions were not great. With a bit of trial and error, it’s been working pretty well. It handles both lithium and lead-acid batteries without issue, and the built-in charging modes are a nice touch for extending battery life. The fan is quiet, and it seems to stay cool even under heavier loads. Overall, it’s a solid, high-output converter; just be ready to do a little homework if you’re not an RV electrician lol.

This is a high current RV converter/battery charger that also has a fixed voltage (power supply) mode. This unit may be a little much except for the largest RVs. To use it at its maximum ratings you MUST connect it to a 20A AC circuit. You can get by with a dedicated 15A circuit IF it is the only thing on it AND you do not load it at maximum. It is a good option for off grid battery power systems that have access to generator or sporadic AC service. The 'manual' is a one page sheet that is basically worthless, so be sure you are familiar with power and wiring standards before installation. It really should be expanded with better install notes and specifications. The sheet says to use 8 gauge wiring, but that is undersized for anything over 40-50A. If you are going to anticipate operation at max or close to max output, 2AWG would be better, certainly no less than 4AWG. The description page on amazon says it is a '4 stage charger' and is for lithium and lead acid batteries. The manual does not confirm the battery types. Also the charging chart clearly indicates a 3 STAGE charging profile with no 'Equalization' stage and no auto battery type detection. They call the '4th mode' the fixed voltage power supply mode. Wrong. The charger is 3 stage not 4. The voltage profile shown for the charger typical for a LEAD ACID battery. There is no mention of auto detection of battery type so that it can switch from 3 stage lead acid to 2 stage Lithium/LifePO4 profiles. One place on the page calls it a "120A" charger, while another place call it a "55A" charger. I have no way to test a load that large so the jury is still out on that one. While this charger can charge lifepo4 batteries, it is NOT OPTIMIZED for them, so be aware. It almost seems like the description on amazon is for a different device. I believe the product description should ACCURATELY describe the product being sold and this one needs a makeover. Within the limitations noted above, the product works and functions as it should. If you have large capacity LifePO4 systems this may not be for you as there are better options. Lead acid users will be fine and those who need a large current fixed DC supply should be good also. The rating reflects the misleading advertising.
