Having a door handle as easy as this has made getting in and out of our enclosed trailer much easier. The security of the door is much better than knowing that you could be locked in doors of the trailer. Now I can be able to leave the trailer without fearing that I can be locked in

Our trailer had been broken into and the door was always hard to close after. We purchased this new lock and now it works perfectly

We broke the key in our previous trailer lock, and this ended up being a great replacement! It is much more heavy duty than the stock lock that came with the trailer, and it was easy to install. The keys also look like they will hold up better and not as flimsy as our old ones. Just installed it so can’t speak about long term, but happy so far!

I have actively used the lock on this door for **6 days.** We replaced the lock after someone tried to break into the trailer and this was the replacement. Locked the trailer up and she's been sitting a few months (maybe 3-4 or so?) until now. I am currently in Covid Quarantine and thought that the comfort of my trailer would be superior to a couch in the garage so that I can isolate from my family and not get them sick, too.Today I went to unlock the door to go inside for a shower, after everyone else left for work, and the red deadbolt latch gave way and started spinning. The soft plastic had completely stripped of the one flat side that engages the deadbolt and was spinning on the pin. After only 6 days of actual use, this is absolutely unacceptable. I would be more understanding if the lock was several years old, plastic doesn't last forever. But we bought and installed it only 3-4 months ago, or so (end of summer).I was locked inside for **almost 4 hours** until someone could come free me. Thankfully my neighbor was kind enough to pass me a screw driver so that I could take the thing apart and free myself.DO NOT BUY THIS LOCK. I **DO NOT* recommend this product to anyone.I wont even bother with a request for a refund, I understand Amazon's refund policy, but this is maddening that something that one would expect a reasonable amount of physical use of would be made of such horrible soft plastic materials. I would have been livid if I had to call a locksmith to get me out.

The old one is easily removed by taking off the 2 screws on the edge plate. You need to do this to get enough wiggle room to pull the assembly out. Next pull off the dead bolt handle. It is secured by a c clip. I just took a pair of pliers and pulled it off. I pushed the new one on, but did not use the c clip. Not necessary. On the inside, remove the 4 screws and push the assembly in and away from the door to remove it. Throw a little oil into the key hole, and bolt mechanism. Push the new one in, opposite of the way you took the old one out. Attach with one screw, then attach the plate. Using blue tape, align the mechanism, so that it is square with the end of the door, and is pushed together. Attach the 3 remaining screws, tighten like an auto tire lugs, and test. Attach the new dead bolt handle. Our old door assembly was changed because the key lock stopped working. After replacing it, I realized that old one was sticking. The new one, opens and closes with out any effort. The key holes have a little moon on one side of it. To put the key it, put the key at a slight angle, and it will slide to key hole cover out of the way, and then turn the key. If you try to put the key in directly, it will not go. I am assuming this makes it harder to pick. Overall, first time I have done this, and in and out in less than an hour. I am going to buy another, and keep it as a spare.
