CYMBAL VOTE WINNER
When SABIAN launched Cymbal Vote in 2012, it was the first time a major music manufacturer had allowed its customers to choose their annual product offering. HAND-CRAFTED – EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
Like all SABIAN B20 Cast Cymbals, 14” AAX X-Plosion Hats begin life in the Foundry, where a centuries-old family process is used to create the most musical and durable of all cymbal alloys. Inside the Foundry, SABIAN metallurgists combine carefully measured amounts of Copper, Tin and Silver, heat it to 2100 degrees Fahrenheit, and pour it into casts. At this stage, it’s hard to believe these castings will eventually become a powerhouse pairing like the AAX X-Plosion Hats. But first, they must go on a journey through Multi-rolling for intensity, Hammering for tone, Lathing for enhanced response and projection, and a final Aging process in the legendary SABIAN Vault for optimum sound. In a sense, it’s a journey that’s only complete when you play the cymbal of your choice − an evolution from idea to reality. It is this process – innovation blended with traditional cymbal-making – that allowed AAX to make history as the first modern cymbal concept in B20 bronze.

These hats are by far the best that I have ever played! They are well worth the money. Sound is crisp and solid. You won't have trouble being heard, and the sound is fantastic!Sabian has created outstanding musical instruments in their X-plosion cymbals. The high hats, (AAX); ride (AAX); and crashes (AA, AAX, HHX) are all awesome! You can't go wrong with these cymbals. They are just that good...Sabian is becoming the standard by which all cymbals are measured. Few other companies can keep up. I salute you Sabian!Check out reviews of x-plosion hats on you-tube...I think you'll be convinced to try a pair. You won't be disappointed!

Before my review, I want to say that my review is only for the top hat in the set. My bottom hat is a Zildjian K Dark hat cymbal. Here's my review:I play pop punk and was looking to replace all my cymbals on my kit so I could get a set that complimented each other, that compliment the music I play, and fit my playing style. I actually bought the top hat at my local guitar center and wanted something bright when the hihat was closed but very swishy when it was opened. I had seen other artist mix a bright top with a dark bottom and thought I'd see if I could find a pair that said to me, "Buy ME!". The associate at Guitar Center and I probably went through probably 15 tops and bottoms of different combinations before I found the Sabian AAX Xplosion top and the Zildjian K Dark hat bottom together just calling my name. If you've never heard these 2 cymbals together as one, in my opinion they are the yin and the yang of hihats. Bright when I need bright, dark when I need dark and they compliment each other in ways I can't put into words except for "swish". This hat is beautiful, it is durable, it is a great cymbal.
