The Model 578 GLS Pro-Fit brings the unique GLS (Grip Lock System) and SafariSeven together in a holster designed to fit a wide variety of guns. The Pro-Fit is customizable and adjusts to securely fit over 225 firearms. The 578 also features the GLS, an innovative technology that automatically secures the weapon when holstered and releases it upon application of the middle finger with a standard shooting grip for a more intuitive and safer release. The holster body is constructed with SafariSeven, a lightweight, state-of-the-art nylon blend is completely non-abrasive to a gun’s finish, tolerant of extreme high and low temperatures, and easy to maintain. This holster includes an injection-molded paddle and an injection-molded belt loop that is adjustable for maximum comfort and allows the holster to be worn cross draw. Two new sizes, Wide Standard and Wide Long to fit the most popular Beretta, Sig Sauer and Springfield Armory firearms. The Pro-Fit now accommodates over 225 pistols with a simple adjustment. Safariland part number 578-283-411.

I have been able to get the following Glocks to fit: G19, G17, G30S, G30, G21.This works well when you want to conceal but also want to carry outside of the waistband. The open-bottom design is great because full size pistols can still fit (this was intended for G19 but G17 fits; it just sticks out the bottom).I can conceal my 9mm Glocks (1" slide) with an ALS paired with the right shirt. My ALS holsters hide my G19 and G17 without issues. However, if your Glock is a thicker .45 or 10mm (20, 21, 29, 30) and you want to conceal, GLS may be better for concealment (see explanations below). This holster's low-cut design makes it suitable for thick Glocks. My Safariland 7378 ALS (fits 21 & 20) has high sides, which increases the overall thickness under the clothing and makes it unconcealable with the majority of shirts. I also noticed that GLS keeps the pistol closer to the body than the ALS. This difference gets more noticeable as the pistols get bigger. With this lower-cut design and closer position, my G21 conceals very well with more of my shirts when using GLS. My G30 also fits fine; the G30S fits too, after I tighten the holster. Considering the matching sizes, the GLS would do the same for G20 and G29.The way I view the GLS is that the GLS prevents accidental unholstering (leaning against something, hitting part of a chair/bench when sitting down, accidentally bumping into things in tight spaces, etc.). The one advantage with retention that this does not have is "gun grab" protection. Bad guys need to know how retention systems other than the GLS work in order to snatch (you'll be able to fight them off before they have time to figure it out), but a normal grasp will get a pistol out of the GLS immediately. Open carry with a GLS isn't a good idea. However, it's still a valuable holster for concealment purposes; think about it: if you conceal properly, no one should see your pistol, so the reduced level of "gun grab" protection that the GLS provides shouldn't be an issue.

When I first dove into firearms, Safariland was like the Ferrari name. Now they're like the Jeep name, yeah they get it done with style, but they're cheap as hell man. This holster scratched up my trigger guard. I'll still use it, it's comfortable, but I don't recommend it.

If your favorite firearm has an optic, this is the holster for you. I use this on a range belt, but I’m sure you could conceal it OWB. Holds my piece of perfection very securely.

Had a hard time finding a quality OWB holster that had active retention. This fits a CZ 75 compact perfectly. Barrel comes right down to the end of the holster. Release works great after a couple tweaks. First— the included shim had to be added given the thin trigger guard on the CZ. Second— I shaved down the plastic with a Dremel on the corner that makes contact with the grip. It worked without doing this, but if you are using the factory CZ rubber grips with palm swell, they will catch upon reholster. After market, thinner grips would work without shaving the edge of the holster. Works great now and I’m happy with the purchase.

I LOVE this thing! The paddle works great and is comfortable (belt hook properly put on the pistol side, not the paddle side like many other makers do), the locking and release mechanisms are perfect, and it can fit multiple pistols. Have it sized to be just a hair snug on a P30sk, which makes it work for a VP9 also but is a bit loose. Wobbles a bit if I run. If they could figure out a way to make this concept work with a light, it would be perfect. It's very easy to draw from, canting out from the body a bit. Not ideal for concealment, it will look really weird under a shirt, but it CAN be done with a large jacket.

I know it's a bit of a "jack of all trades" but it certainly fits my Glock 19 MOS perfectly. That, plus Safariland reliability, reputation, comfort, and design make this a steal. Unlocking during the draw is very instinctive and largely fool-proof. Highly recommended.

This holster is incredible , it fits everything from my shield to my G17 , it fits thin frame single stacks and full size doubles and it fits them all like it was designed for each pistol. This holster is also the most comfortable paddle holster I've ever owned because of its design around the hip . It has no rub points but is securely locked in place with no sliding around like most. I've found this holster to be perfect for everyday carry and functional for range or training . I was skeptical about the finger release but found it to be a natural draw , your finger releases the gun without thinking about it . Can't say enough about this holster except it is an incredible design

Overall I am satisfied with this product. It does have an adjustment that will allow it to be used on a Glock 19 as well as an HK VP9. My only dissatisfaction with this product is the fact that the HK does not lock in tightly vertically. There is some vertical movement when it locks in a place that the holster cannot be adjusted for. Otherwise the holster is very good and the paddle locks in place very securely. After using this holster at the range several times I am not a big fan of the locking release mechanism . For the price I do feel like it is a good value and given the difficulty in finding a holster for HK VP9 I am satisfied .
