These are made to withstand a nuclear blast. The steel is very thick. The PVC (or whatever the soft parts are made off) are tough yet pliable enough. The only thing to complain about is that the top t-pads (adjustable parts) are fit very loosely over the frames and wiggle & rattle as you move/roll around in your chair.
