I ordered these Safe Home 6-Way Pool & Spa Care test strips to "fill in the gap" introduced by another brand of test strips that I obtained recently. The other strip did NOT have a cyanuric acid test, which is kind of important for me now that I've converted from an Ozone sanitizing method to a salt water chlorine generator. Anyway, I expected to mostly use the other strips and only use these new ones when I wanted to check the cyanuric acid level. But it seems that II am finding myself actually using these new test strips most of the time.And why not? They seem to give accurate readings and since I am still at the stage of balancing the water chemistry after the conversion I might as well get as much information as I can using a single strip. The vial contains 50 test strips, which should last me about a year if I check the levels weekly. The colors I'm getting on the individual tests are closer to what's depicted on the vial's label, making accurate assessments easier. I've used strips before where the strip colors didn't match the vial colors at all, so these new strips are like a breath of fresh air!

We have a pool and I am often testing the water to make sure everything is in balance so I can adjust the chemicals as needed. I picked this Safe Home 6-Way Pool & Spa Care – 300 Total Tests/Kit to do just that. The title is a little deceptive by listing 300 total tests. While that is true, it isn't what the consumer will think. They will think they are getting 300 test strips since you can't easily test each item individually without using the remaining 5 tests. There are only 50 test strips which when you times by the 6 different tests (Free Chlorine, Bromine, pH, Alkalinity, Hardness, Cyanuric Acid), equals 300 total. Again, true but not what you might think as a consumer. They should list both in the title if they wish to say 300 (50 test strips for a total of 300 items tested - 6 per strip).As for performance, the tests worked just like any other that I've used but these don't hold the test results as long. The directions indicate you need to read the results within 30 seconds. Anytime after that and the color continues to change and won't be accurate. All in all these work fine but I think the price is a little high for only 50 test strips and I don't agree with sneaky titles.

Anyone making a casual glance at the description would think they were getting 300 test strips when in fact it is 50 test strips. The reseller has taken the 6 possible things to test for and so comes up with 300 possible tests! Actually, there are only 5 color changing tabs on each strip (chlorine and bromine share one) so only 250 different tests are possible.The product, made by Safehome, works fine, the box is correctly labeled and nowhere says anything about "300 tests". My criticism is with the reseller, EnviroTestKits for the deceptive description

These test strips are bought because they are quick, convenient, and easy to use. The container comes with 50 test strips and one of those desiccant gel packs to keep the inside of the container dry. It's very important not to get it wet because it will render the test strips inaccurate and therefore useless. The instructions say to dip the test strip in the water sample for 2 seconds, and then hold it horizontal without shaking off the excess water and then read the result in 15 seconds. The test strip must be read within 30 seconds to get the accurate measurement. I think this set of test strips is easier to read than the other one I have, so I would definitely buy this again if and when I need it. Again, nothing will beat titration test kits, but titration test kits take a little longer than these easy dip test strips so it all depends on what you are looking for. If you want super accurate, then get titration kits, but if you want generally accurate test strips that are easy to use and quick, then this product is for you. I like how simply and quickly I can test so many pool chemicals without breaking out the tubes and droppers. I did do that to verify these are accurate, and other than some slight variation in color from the printed label, they are good for making sure you are in the designated ranges.A 2 second dip in the water and 15 second wait gives you a quick reading for all the basics of pool chemistry. Covered are Chlorine, Bromine, pH, Alkalinity, Hardness, & Cyanuric Acid. The Cyanuric reading is stabilizer, and that's unusual to find on these types of sticks, and a welcome addition. These in combination with a salt level strip means I can check things out in about a minute and move along.During the Summer months here in the Sunshine State, you have to keep on top of the pool or it can get out of control seemingly overnight. With the sun beating on the chlorine, the rain diluting everything and messing up the pH these Safe Home 6 way test strips are your best friend for stopping it before it happens.
