just got this so we'll see if this review holds up over time...seems very solidly built. but as other's have said, the lifting apparatus does wobble side to side a little bit. doesn't necessary mean it's going to break, but it is a little annoying. if you were using this as a surface for drawing (digital or with pen/pencil) it would probably shake too much. for typing on a laptop it's ok. the wobbliness is most pronounced at full height/extension as the support for the 'legs' isn't as much as when it's lower down.that said, it's super easy to adjust, just pull up on the tabs on each side at the same time and it will pop right up, spring loaded. you just play around until you find the setting that you prefer. there are at least 4. really does lift it right up to eye level. and it locks in at each level, so no collapsing or whatever when you move it around.finally i saw some reviews complaining about how smooth the surface is, how things slide around. true it is very smooth and anything that's not held in place will slide around. BUT the little lip/gripper thing at the bottom is made of hard but flexible rubber and is also spring loaded and so far it has a good solid grip on my chromebook (approx 3lbs). it's not going anywhere - up, down, sideways - it's held on tight.so my last (and first) 'lap desk' like this was the cheaper kind that just props up, didn't really grip the laptop, was constantly collapsing and the laptop would just slide off if i tipped it a little. many near misses falling. finally one of the little pivots broke so i got this one. sure it's a little bit pricey, but it's well-made and well-engineered. i can literally lift this off my lap to set to the side and it stays right where it's set at, and keeps my laptop firmly gripped. it's pretty great after that old one.

I do not like the rubber piece that keeps laptop from falling off. too flimsy. the rest of it is good

I wish there was a slightly longer version of this, but it still works incredibly well. I don't use this for a laptop, but I use it alongside my drawing tablet, since I don't have space on my desk. I have chronic pain issues, and certain positions may be comfortable some days, but not others, and vice versa. This desk gives me options that I need. And when I have the desk propped upwards, there's space for my multi-shortcut accessory for my tablet. While a bit pricey compared to others, it's not made of a bunch of flimsy plastic, and feels very reliable even while propped up with the arms extended. It stays where I put it, and is easy to adjust purposely (you're not going to lower the platform accidentally). Please make a longer one! My experience would be over the roof. (My tablet sticks out about half an inch on each side.) Overall, while I can't recommend ease of use with a laptop, I can with a drawing tablet, and highly recommend this for that use especially.

It was time for a new laptop stand. The one I had before did what I needed it to do but after 8 years one of the supports cracked so sometimes it would let loose and I was a little afraid for my laptop. This stand is amazing. It's has a good sturdy build, very easy to lift up and not slippery at all. I have a 14 inch laptop but other reviews said they have larger laptops that fit well. It has a very nice cushion on the bottom. I would definitely buy it again.

I love that. There’s many options for how you want it whether you want it just flat on your lap. Or there’s two other settings to elevate it it’s great for sitting in bed. Or perhaps sitting on the sofa watching television or just if you want to sit and work in a chair.It is a little bit bulky. I guess you could travel with it and put it in your laptop case if you had a large rolling case.It does have some sort of sand or squishy stuff on the bottom that touches your lap.Anytime I’m sitting or I’m sick in bed. I use this and it’s just really great. You could also use it at the desk if you wanted to.

Recently, I had a cerival neck fusion, encompassing most of the cervical spine. As an avid reader, I found that my enjoyment was curtailed as the neck brace and the fusion precluded me from bending my neck forward. However, this adjustable tilt lap table has allowed me to continue to read and work on my computer. The base of the table has a bean bag configuration which allows for the table to fit comfortably on my lap. The base of the table has a hard surface so that one may use a mouse. The height and tilt capacity is perfect, allowing for the user to view the computer sceen without having to bend their neck. Additionally, the table has a support at the front of the table to secure a book. The table has adjustments on either side that easily open, allowing for easy heigh adjustment. Hence, for those who have strength issues, this table provides easy adjustment. At the rear of the table, there is a recessed area to place an ipad or iphone. It is easy to clean and is made with high quality high density plastic, yet is lightweight. This is the third adjustable lap table that I have tried and I'm so glad that its features allows me to continue to read, work on my computer as well as paint.

you can use this thing right out of the box, no setup, no problem figuring out how to use it. the part that sits on your lap is soft, lightweight and comfortable, which would have been a deal breaker for me were it otherwise.the well for the phone is a skosh deep, but it's better to keep it from dropping out and it doesn't interfere much with viewing the rest of the screen.the lip doesn't flip up and stay, you have to hold it up while maneuvering the laptop into place, but it helps grip a laptop into place rather than give it an opportunity to slide. the lip isn't really needed at all unless using a steep incline.very happy with my purchase and recommend it to others.
