I bought this for use in my salt lamp. About 2 hrs after plugging the unit in I smelled something "electrical" like. Looked and the dimmer switch was hot and starting to melt. So glad I was home when this happened. Not sure if it would have caught fire or tripped a breaker.

Ordered this for a family member who has multiple salt lamps. The dimmer had previously gone out on two of his, and I replaced them with standard inline switches, eventually, the socket in one of them failed in some way (I am not too sure as I was not there at the time) So I just ordered two of these for him to install in the lamps, and they fixed the issues. It came with a bunch of extra lamps, which is great because 15W incandescent C7 bulbs locally is pretty much impossible, and any lower wattage lamps will not heat up enough which will cause the lamps to start collecting moisture and melting. This is pretty much the standard fit for salt rock lamps (including the kind with the bowl as one of his is that type)

We have a rather expensive salt-stone wax melter that keeps the front of our shop smelling nice. The OEM light that was inside was exactly the same type, style and size as this, but had a circuit board controller, which burned out and made the whole thing stop working.This was a perfect replacement, although in our case we had to upgrade to a 60watt bulb in order to generate the necessary heat to melt the wax.Really great!A++

This product contains two cords for a salt lamp that are dimmable. The power cord that came with my salt lame did not have a dimmer switch. My old lamp was on high all the time.I am so happy I can dim the salt lamp now!The product also contains six lightbulbs.Good product. Very happy.

They work as expected. The cord and bulb holder looks and feels decent quality. The plug is polarized for safety. I verified they are wired correctly with the neutral prong connected to the outer bulb terminal. The control has a nice dampened feel and solid click when turned on/off. With these 15W bulbs, the control ranges from 4-13W output (measured on a Kill-A-Watt). The cord exits from the bottom and needs about 1/4" minimum clearance, so your salt lamp needs to be on feet or a pedestal.
