My first inverter worked great for a couple weeks than had a catastrophic breakdown. Very impressed with this seller, sent a new inverter out the next day. No hassels! I have another samlex evo 2212 running 24/7/365 now for a couple years. Hope this new inverter matches it.

I installed in my motorhome after installing regular inverter how much simpler so now when power is cut from street my inverter automatically takes over with no need for additional hardwire for fridge etc.

After trying the X brand product (which didn't work well), I switched to the Samlex brand. This is a new model with the latest ideas that no one else includes. Such as separate Grid and Gen inputs, separate solar inputs and an SD memory card slot. The separate Grid and Gen inputs allow separate tolerance settings which allow noisy generators but can also reject unwanted grid inputs. The downside to using both inputs is when you want to isolate certain circuits from being used on battery such as the air conditioner and/or water heater in an RV. In this situation I separated the air conditioner and water heater circuits (after my built in transfer switch) on a primary breaker buss and also to the inverter Gen input which is now used for both the Grid and the Gen depending on the separate transfer switch. The output of the inverter then connects to a secondary breaker buss for everything else. The separate solar input allows you to use the inverter mode while grid power is available but when you don't necessarily want to use it. The SD memory slot serves 2 functions, 1) It can be used to load the latest firmware which can be obtained through the Samlex tech support, 2) If the SD card is left in the slot, it will record a detailed history of events including faults and usage history. After having a career in electronics, I have seen many levels of engineering and assembly quality. I couldn't resist opening this product to look inside, as I do with just about everything I buy. This product is very well designed and assembled. The owners manual is very detailed and explains every setting and feature. The software works great so far with no issues. I have contacted tech support twice now. Once before purchase and again to find out about the firmware update process. Both times, my calls were immediately answered with knowledgable and friendly people. It is rare and hard to find this level of support. The installation was easy and so far the unit works great. I highly recommend this product line.
