I've used either a work-provided themed 2-pocket bag or a regular backpack for years. For the last four years, I have found a waterproof work-like backpack that has been a little better than a standard school backpack.Do you still go to an office? Do you use a laptop, notebooks, a water bottle, lots of pens etc. This is a better choice. With the shoulder strap or if there's anyone left in the world that carries a briefcase as a briefcase, you can certainly go retro or look like of an executive business person with this one. Be different, this gives you that option.Good for professions of people dragging papers, folders, pens around.Otherwise, I keep sticking with a business backpack (search those two words).Pros=folds out like a file folder=Samsonite brand=handles strap=unique=lots of themed pockets, phone, laptop, etc.Cons=more expensive than a backpackI'm a Samsonite fan for decades. Each time my work would give me another anniversary gift for 5, 10, years at the company I'd use it to buy another Samsonite item.

This fits my 16” M2 MacBook Pro without issue and feels comfortably secure when moving around. Keep in mind this is a slim bag measuring at about 18” wide, 13” tall, and 4” deep (within an inch) so dont expect to pack bulky dongles or attachments. But for the standard slim charger and usb c dongles this is more than enough room to also include documents or any other wires that are needed. The best part for me is how comfortable and lightweight this is, with my MacBook and wires in a bag it’s already feeling pretty heavy so the comfort is huge. The straps cushion is on the smaller end but sits well on my shoulder with it in a sling, and the grips are more than comfortable enough for carrying it that way for not super long durations. It’s got plenty of dividers inside as well to keep things organised as well as an external pocket that I use for my chargers and cables. Overall, if you’re a commuting or hybrid software engineer I highly recommend this bag as it’s got the looks to be allowed in an office but is more than practical enough for daily use taking your laptop to a cafe or other spots.

I have been having a bit of a Goldilocks crisis trying to find a new work back - I need one that looks good, can carry all my junk (laptop, maybe an iPad, maybe a portable monitor, mouse, notebook, water bottle, etc.), not be too heavy, not be too bulky, and is comfortable to carry. You can also see everything which is another issue I've had with other bags and I lose stuff.I was very surprised with how slim this bag is but when you open it up, there seems to be a million dividers for literally anything you could need- folders, notebooks, monitor, laptop, ipad. The pockets are super functional and perfect for smaller items too. The outside feels durable, the zippers are well made, and it's not bulky or overly masculine looking. While I'd love to have a fancy designer bag for my work bag (as I did for years), toting around a laptop and the issues it causes with your shoulders is just not worth it to me and this bag helps solve that problem with the crossbody.I'm super happy with this bag and it would also be perfect for travel given its size.

There’s not a lot of description on the product page, and the pictures really don’t do it justice, so I’ve included some of my own. It’s basically a laptop bag meets mobile office meets man-bag, and it totally means business—it’s a beast! They claim there are 7 compartments—which is true—but with all the interior pockets, I counted at least 15. (Three just for pens!) It’s like a desk away from your desk. The main compartment has zippers down both sides so it opens wide like an accordion file, and there’s a smart separation between where the bulkier items go and all the smaller organizational stuff up front. Absolutely brilliant layout. One of the accordion-style compartments has a three-split pocket that’s surprisingly spacious. It’s great for organizing accessories like chargers, external drives, pens—or whatever random bits you usually lose in the bottom of your bag. And just for fun, I tried sliding my 16 oz Simple Modern mug into one of the slots… and it fit like it was made for it. So yeah, this thing really is basically a desk with a shoulder strap—coffee and all.Another thoughtful feature: the front pocket, which already has a ton of compartments, also includes a small, bright red leash with a hook at the end. The hook is a bit tricky to open, but honestly, that’s a good thing, especially if you’re using it to hold something valuable like keys or an ID card. The bright red color ensures it’s easy to spot, and it’s just one of those little touches that really shows how much thought went into the design. It’s practical, secure, and a perfect example of how every detail was considered. There are also two sturdy handles on top, which are a really nice addition. They’re well-sized and have a great gripping material around them, making it easy to pick up and go. They’re a good width too—nothing too skinny that you’ll feel like they’ll cut into your hand. You can easily carry it by hand if you don’t want to use the shoulder strap.Everything about this bag is high quality and well thought out. The zippers are smooth, strong, and durable—so much so that you can zip them up with one hand. The grips are comfortable, and they glide easily without snagging. Even the clips for the shoulder strap are tough yet easy to use, adding to the overall solid feel of the bag. There’s a freakin’ 3-year warranty if you register it, which is wild for a soft-sided brief.Of course, it’s Samsonite, so the quality is exactly what you’d expect—classic, durable, and professional. It has that indestructible vibe I remember from back in the day. It’s surprisingly lightweight for how much functionality is packed into it.One thing I noticed—it doesn’t stand completely upright on its own. But lean it against something and it totally cooperates, even with the pockets open. Honestly, I think adding structure to make it freestanding would’ve just added weight, and for everything this thing is built to carry, it’s impressively lightweight when empty. My 17” laptop doesn’t fit into the designated padded laptop sleeve, but it does fit comfortably in the main compartment. So just keep that in mind if you’ve got a larger screen. It also comes with a StackIt strap for easy attachment to your luggage. The Velcro piece that covers it is impressively strong, and it even has a tab sewn in for easy pulling. This tab helps keep the strap closed and secure when not in use, and ensures it stays in place on a suitcase handle. It’s a small touch, but a brilliant one.The shoulder strap is seriously long and adjusts easily, making it versatile for any body type. It’s wide enough that it doesn’t slip off my sloping shoulder, which is a big plus. And if you prefer hands-free convenience, it works great as a crossbody bag too.If Samsonite ever needed a spokesperson, I’d sign up in a heartbeat. If this bag caught your eye, it’s 100% worth every penny.
