  • Two-component paint (also referred to as 2k paints or 2-Parts paint) are the paints in which a chemical reaction results in paint hardening. Two-component paints consist of a base paint and a hardener. These two components mixed vigorously provides a much stronger substrate less susceptible to damage from chemical, weather, abrasion or UV rays.

Don’t skip the primer!Pro here: I have used many different types of 2k products. When requiring a 2k urethane for home use, I typically try to find them in the can form like this for ease of use.This paint was easy to use, but was perhaps the thinnest and least-hiding paint that I have ever used. I was painting orange over an existing orange paint job in good quality- which would rarely require primer for many paints. I am not kidding when I say it took 1 and a half cans to reach the coverage you see. Note the dark logo still visible under the paint.Do not forego the primer even if your substrate is in good condition and prepped correctly. Expect super thin layers (apply sparingly and let each pass flash dry to prevent runs). Seen with 2k spraymax matte clear as finishing coat.

I painted my e-bike frame with the epoxy primer and than added this spray and it’s what any DIY desires. It’s as close as professional desire you will get.

I used samurai primer, silver base coat, fluorescent yellow for 1978 Honda CT70 mini motorcycle. It’s my first time paint job! I really like the quality of this spray paint. Professional paint in the spray paint!
