My son also uses these. He has never had a problem in over 2 years... and he uses them alot. I accidently saved a graphicsfile on my 16MB SanDisk... and my camera reported that the card may be bad. Notice your camera will say may be... (Oympus does)because after I inserted the disc into my floppy A drive .... with adapter... and seen what was on disc... i noticed that i had accidently saved a folder containing a bunch of pictures froma previous batch... I rename all my folders when placing them on my desktop... so i was able to identify this "surprise" folder...as being used at a much earlier date.I think a lot of bad reviews... on electronic products are dueto customer ignorance. Many times I thought i was dead right...and could not make an error... (before this my last error was onmarch 36, 1991.) As you can see if you read closely I never make mistakes and can go many years error free. San Disks... workevery time... when used properly. Great Product.

The 16MB SmartMedia card is perfect for digital cameras (I use one with my Olympus D360-L) or similar applications. It holds about 74 high quality images. Also, most people don't realize how small these cards actually are - they're about the size of a mini post-it note and weigh about as much as a nickel. I think the only disadvantage is the possibility of losing it!I would recommend using a higher capacity card for MP3 players - you won't fit too many songs in 16MB (probably 3 or 4).

I gave it a three for two reasons the first reason i took off a point was because it took me about 35 minutes to get the memory card out of its package. You better hope you have good scissors and if you die expect to spend a good 10minutes tryin to get it out. The second reason a took off a point is because i bought it for my mp3player which is 32megs. With this memory card you get to add 4 songs. and that's 4 short songs... if you can only add 4 songs onto your player...it seems like a rip-off but if the 64mg is too much for you buy this one and get poor quality songs and you can fit more than 4.

Recently purchased an Olympus D-360L. The SanDisk card works great with it. Using the standard quality mode for the camera the SanDisk card will hold about 72 pictures.

I have the older Olympus 400Z which only goes up to 1280x960. This 16MB card holds almost 80 pictures at the highest compression. That is plenty for casual use and vacations when I combine it with my existing 8MB card.It even works in "sequence" mode even thou the Olympus docs say that only Olympus cards will work.

I have recently purchased the Olympus D450Z digital camera, which uses this kind of picture memory chip. At a fraction of the price that you find in camera stores, you can have a completely compatible memory device for your Olympus camera (and I'll bet for other brands using SmartMedia as well!) and money left over for the extra NiMH batteries you'll have to keep charged. Worth getting is the Olympus PCMCIA adapter (available through Amazon) which allows the chip to mimic a Hard Drive on any machine with a Type II ATA slot. For USB machines you can find any of a host of readers, but check the reviews first!Just as an aside -- I sneakily used this chip to move a powerpoint presentation from one laptop to another this week, and it was amazingly smooth! This could easy replace floppy technology in machines that don't have the space for an inboard Zip drive. Cool!
