I ordered a few of these to pair with my Canon Digital Rebel XT (also known as Canon 350D, I believe) and they work perfectly out of the box. The only caveat is I recommend for these older cameras to not format memory cards larger than 8gb in the camera itself because the camera automatically caps it at 8gb. This is a camera issue rather than a memory card issue, as they just didn't have memory sticks this large back then I guess. As long as you don't reformat the card in the camera itself, however, you will be able to fill up the card's entire 16gb as expected. Read write speeds are also excellent. The memory cards do not come with the little clear plastic cases for protection, though. So if you are rough on your memory cards in travel then maybe order a small case that holds a few of these cards. Otherwise, if you are pretty gentle with your memory cards then not having a case should be just fine. Just don't put them in a dirty or dusty compartment in your bag as there is a small chance that the dirt can clog the connection socket.

Happy with this cf card. Just went on an EPIC camping and hiking trip. I wasn't as concerned about data transfer rates, so this card was priced right! I used the card and it worked very well. Thanks!UPDATE: I got a new computer. Somehow while transferring the photos from the card to my external hard drive, I managed to delete the entire card. This has never happened to me before, but I was able to retrieve all the images on the card. I just wanted to update my review. I don't think losing the images had anything to do with the card, but being able to retrieve them was not doubt due to the name brand CF card and not a random generic.

I have used, San Disk cards before for my Digital cameras. (Mainly: SD. for many years, and have always found them to be very reliable and trustworthy compared to the cheaper options tried!) I would always recommend the Ultra version, as you get faster speeds and most important: Reliable transfer of data and longevity of Insertions/Removals from card readers & cameras. (Obviously they have better Gold plated contacts, than the rivals) I have been using this 4GB. card for data transfers a lot lately, in a PCMCIA adaptor and with my other purchase; The excellent Integral CF card reader. And have after extensive use found both to be Totally reliable and Excellent value for money!I would like to mention, please take care when: Inserting the CF card, as it has 50 minute connection pins. (2x25) These can be easily damaged if "Forced" into place, especially at an angle. (Insert "Gently" and it will last for many years!)

I use this card in my Canon 40D (I know, time to update right?) and it works flawlessly. The speed isn't such a huge deal since this card outpaces my camera body anyway so it wasn't worth it to me to buy the high speed cards. The next body I buy will likely be an SD card body so I went with the lower cost option for this card and I don't regret it one bit. Used it for a week out in Colorado and it worked without a hitch. I can cram ~550 large RAW files onto this card with the 10MP 40D camera and I used up just about all of that on that trip. Used it again over in Europe and it worked without a hitch once more.I'd definitely recommend this card if you have an older body or don't care so much about speed. If you have a newer one, I'd recommend getting one that's a bit faster. Can't beat this one for the price if you don't need the speed though. I'd definitely buy another if I needed it.

I just got back from Ireland and shot almost 700 high res JPGs on a Canon 20D DSLR. I still had4.5GB of space left to use! Each photo is about 3.5 GBs each. This is a nice size card for themoney. If I had been shooting RAW+JPG you can triple that size figure but at the price gettingmore 8GB cards are not a problem. This card was the only one I used for the entire 10 days in Ireland and there were absolutely noproblems. It performed flawlessly with and without the camera's built-in flash. It is nice to havea card that can keep up with 5 fps shots and then be able to download them onto the computerquickly as well. This card also supports Full HD video recording as well.I would give this card 5 stars and highly recommend it because of it's performance rating, sizeand price point. I still have not had any problems with any SanDisk cards purchased within thelast 10 years. For all you stat geeks out there, below are the test results run using H2testw 1.4The card was tested on a Dell Studio XPS with USB 2.0 built-in card reader.--------------------------------------------------------------[Only 4990 of 7627 MByte tested: The amount of data (photos) on the card.]Test finished without errors.- Writing speed: 18.3 MByte/s- Reading speed: 22.3 MByte/s...........................................[No data (photos) on the card.]Test finished without errors.- Writing speed: 17.7 MByte/s- Reading speed: 22.0 MByte/s

Good write speed. Depending on the file size the write throughput ranged from 10 MByte/s to 30 Mbyte/s.The files were primarily MP3 and WMA file formats. The write speed is indeed fast compared to other compact flashcards from different manufacturers, namely Transcend, and Kingston. This Sandisk card used with USB 3.0 adapterfrom Transcend delivers the speed that is indeed fast. When, I tried writing same set of files to the none USB 3.0(i.e. USB 2.0 card reader or older compact flash slot) the throughput droppedbelow 2-3 Mbytes/s. Make sure you have USB 3.0 adapter/multi-card reader. Make sure you know where yourspeed bottle neck would be. The Class 10 Kingston SD card which is supposed to deliver 30Mbyte/s deliveredthroughput in range of 3 Mbyte/s write speed. Not all class 10's have similar speed. This card Ultra 8 GB card is indeed fast and live up to the rating. Remember that read and write speeds aredifferent. The Sandisk cards have never failed me before (except one "fake" Sandisk I once purchased from ebay). So, buy from reputable source such as Amazon. This is good card.Don't go with the slower 4GB card, or different cheaper brand. Unless you are recording HD video at high framerate this card should be good enough for your everyday use.
