This is a medium hi output rail humbucker, which is unusual for this type. However it sounds good, like it. Sounds like my Wolfgang pickups! Put it in my 84' Kramer clone really close to string's. Sounds clear and tames down the high gain .

I'm giving this pickup 3 stars because I'm comparing it to pickups that sound better to me, but they also cost more. For $15 delivered it is a great value if you care more about the cost.Good: well packaged, plenty of wire, looks good and does put out a decent medium-high output.Compared to a made in USA Dimarzio Super Distortion it is a little harsh and thin. Compared to a handmade in USA Wilde L-500XL it is harsh and unrefined.Compared to no pickup at all it is great. Pretty tight palm mutes, good sustain. I installed it in a guitar I was giving away so I didn't spend a long time dialing it in. It's possible I could have found an amp setting to get rid of the slightly harsh frequencies I was hearing.If I needed a decent output pickup for metal, punk, etc. and only had $20 to spend, I'd get this. I like the appearance.If you can swing another $60 or so, go for a name-brand pickup.

I put these in a custom Lpj I made, hooked them up actually using the coil splitting wires, and all I can is that they are worth the money and then some. The overall construction is solid, but the sounds really are excellent. Coil splitting on a lot of pickups can often sound as if you're just lowering the output of the pickup, but this one genuinely sounds like a p90 or single coil. Honestly for the price you can't go wrong, I intend on using this again on future projects.

You get what you pay for with these. The build quality is poor. Fitment is fine and everything works okay. I put my meter on it and only got about 10.5kohms out of it. So not as hot as I wanted or what was advertised. But good upgrade for cheap guitars.

These pickups were cheap but surprisingly great sounding. A year later and I'm ordering another set because the leads on these pickups are so thin. In a year they have gotten brittle and keep snapping off where they are soldered. This next set I will have to find a way to route those wires so that there is zero stress at those solder points. If I weren't so addicted to the sound of these I'd look for something else.
