I wanted a bike rack that would last and accommodate my family of 4. I bought this slightly over two years ago based on the Wirecutter recommendation. I was disappointed at the quality of the the supports for the bike tires, but kept it. Now that we are just out of the warranty period (and finally ready to put my 6 year old's bike on the rack for adventures!) the connection finally snapped while my husband was on his way home from a ride, scratching up his new mountain bike on the road.

I never liked the idea of roof racks (one slip and you've done some serious damage to your paint), and trunk racks got annoying to constantly take off/put on and they blocked access to the trunk when in use. This rack solved all those problems. It's easy to load/unload, holds two full-size mountain bikes with ease, and can tilt away from the hatch/trunk to allow access even with the bikes loaded. It has two built-in cable locks that will not deter a thief with a grinder, but they will keep your bike from getting stolen while you pop into the coffee shop for 5 minutes. It also comes with a lock to secure it to your hitch, which is a nice touch.I had a small issue with the arms, called Saris and they immediately shipped me a new part. I've had this rack for almost 4 years and still loving it!

I own a four door compact car. Most racks that can hold up to 60lbs require a two inch hitch. Saris can hold two of my ebikes on class 1 hitch which is 1 1/4 inch. I have made several trips on the highway with no issues. It's easy to install and remove. I have two bikes with fenders and I can secure them with included straps and locking cables. Looking forward to road trips in the New Year.

The rack is awesome though the integrated cable lock isn’t long enough to secure both wheels on two bikes. An additional lock is required

The rack was easy to assemble and mount. After two uses while driving down the road the rack fell backwards into the open hatchback position and the bikes were almost on the road. It would not clip back into the upright position. I called Amazon looking for a replacement and was told that I could only get a refund and then I could rebuy it. The problem was I paid $500.00 and the new price (less than 30 days later) was $900.00. I called Saris and was told they did have some problems with the rack but there was a fix, they are shipping the parts and the fix is apparently quite simple, we'll see.

I love this Bike Rack. It holds two e-bikes securely in place. I can quick mount them and take them back off. There is some side to side wobble which worried my wife, but otherwise everything seems secure. I like that there are two cables that I can run through the frames and lock the bikes securely in place. My only complaint is that I feel like the cables could have been a half foot longer. I have just enough to go through my larger cruiser bike with none to spare. But I would highly recommend this bike rack.

Construction seems very good, build in locks we a nice feature. I am carrying two eBikes seats a batteries removed, Both bikes approx. 100 pounds heavy rack rocks quite a bit on rough roads, and care must be taken in uneven roads, speed bumps and curds with the heavy bikes. Found that my kick stand was getting in the way of the rear arm a small adjustment and sorted out. Will be keeping an eye on the wheel cradles for stress once again weight of bikes. Happy over all so far after a recent road trip.

We bought this rack after researching a few different brands. We needed one to carry four bikes and wanted a good quality, sturdy one. We didn't care about cost and wanted the best thing we could find. When it arrived, it was missing one of the four bolts for attaching the cross bars. I called Saris and they mailed me one free of charge. This is the first bike rack we've owned. It is quite heavy, but from reading online reviews of other four-bike racks, this one appears to be one (if not THE) most light-weight ones out there. I was impressed that it can hold a significant amount of weight (60pounds/each bike on the first bar and 30pounds/each bike on the second bar). So, it's perfect for our family of four bikes. It is pretty easy to get the bikes loaded in and seems to hold the bikes well. It feels stable driving around. No rattling around.A few 'complaints': 1. The inner hitch brace thing is kinda poorly designed in that when you are trying to fit the rack into the hitch, if you tilt the rack up or down (which you're likely to do since the thing is so big and cumbersome), that hitch brace thing will fall out onto the ground or slide back. So, is definitely a two person job to get the rack into the hitch. I called Saris about it and the guy said that you could bend this piece a little so it will fit a little more snugly. Haven't tried it yet. 2. The plastic parts (wheel well, mounting straps) seem like they may wear pretty quickly (time will tell), but I guess I'll just have to get replacement parts when they break. The customer service for when I needed the replacement bolt was very good that I don't imagine I'll have a problem with replacing the plastic components when I need to go down that road in the future. 3. The wheel straps will easily fall into the wheel well if you forget to lift them up and tuck them out of the way when placing your bike in the wheel well. We've just made a family rule now that we need to tuck them out of the way once the bike is removed. So, overall, happy with the purchase. Gave it five stars since there wasn't a 'four and a half' option. :) Deducted half a star due to the little annoyances as described above. Not sure what else out there is better. Happy it is made in USA.
