I was pretty surprised to see this available and wasn't actually 'looking' for a new sauna backrest, but certainly glad I did see it! This backrest appears well made and I love that it's Canadian Red Cedar Wood (being handmade is also a bonus, in a world of prefab products I always appreciate artisanal pieces and true quality). We have a Sunlighten 2-seater sauna and the existing backrest I have for it is the shape of a scalene triangle, basically, so that you can lean on the angled side. It's been good to this point, but I have wanted a new backrest like this one, that better fits the curvature of your back/spine. The anti-slip pads at both ends are helpful to keep it from sliding around on the bench, as well as keeping the top from scratching up the wood in the sauna. The pads are really important as an anchor of sorts, since this backrest is designed as a single piece with no base and no back (think triangle) to keep it situated wherever it's placed. I'll continue using both backrests - 2 totally different styles and experiences inside my sauna, I like them both. The price point seems on par with what I paid for my other backrest; the higher grade Canadian Red Cedar Wood and craftsmanship are factors here that make the cost justifiable in my view.

The Northwood Sauna Backrest - Handmade from Canadian Red Cedar Wood is an item I just happened to see when browsing the internet.....my wife uses our suana pretty much and I thought this would be a good gift for her.....It has padded edges so it can rest on any part of the suana seat to set it at whatever angle you want to be comfortable....extremely lightweight......I think it can be considered a little pricey, but for a gift to a special person, it is worth it....
