I purchased these for use on the finger keys of a Conn 8D French horn, after reading about other hornists trying this approach. After a few days use, I have to say I like what they do. Other hornists may try these to reduce finger slippage, but my problem was the keys felt a little too short for hand comfort, placing more stress on the little finger. The extra length added to the key can't be more than 1/4", but it seems to help. The padding also creates a bulge that feels cushy on top of the keys and takes just a little getting used to. I might try turning the pads around at some point to see if the flat back surface works as well. If these pads continue to work for me, then it's a cheap solution for my issue.
