What’s not to love about this loom? This is very nostalgic for me as I remember making these as a child. I like that this comes with a small booklet with some designs. My only criticism is that there are not enough loops of one color to make any of the designs in the instruction booklet. I assume that’s by design to make sure that you purchase more loops, but to be fair they are very reasonably priced. I have had some fun with this along with one of my family members and have passed on the fun that I had as a child. The potholders are useful and I found that they hold up for years. I would not hesitate to purchase this for a child as a gift or for an adult just for fun.

I know this is geared for children but I don't feel that this will be very easy for them. Firstly the lack of instructions which I considered odd. There was an advanced way of adding lettering but no way of telling you how to make the basic product, unless you keep referring back to the listing. I also didn't like the fact there were differing numbers of the loom colours. There were only 8 light blue ones which didn't make a full side, whereas there were 16 or 18 of others. The loom itself is strong plastic and it did hold the thick bands well. I'm not sure the children would have the strength to sew together the last bits with the crochet hook but it is necessary to make a solid object. I however found it a great tool and I made a beautiful product with ease. I loved learning this new skill as well. I think if it were marketed older, it would definitely be better.

He did pick up on it pretty quick and finished in about an hour’s time. He did get a little frustrated toward the end of the finishing process because as you get to last side, the piece becomes more difficult to finish. But he eventually finished. He missed a couple of loops, but he was generally satisfied. The next day he made up his own pattern instead of following the pattern in the instructions as he had the day before. He experienced less frustration the second time when finishing the piece.He however, was a bit disappointed that the finished product does not lie flat and curls up. I am pretty sure this is because the included bands are elastic. I think if he wants to use this again, I’ll order some cotton bands or just use a very thick yarn. This loom does teach the basic idea of weaving to children in a way they can understand, however, by experimenting with different materials, it can be even more useful.

I got this kit for my kids and they really loved all the color options included in this set. We did find the loom harder to use than another one we have. When we were doing the finishing, loops were falling off of the loom. It's still a fun kit and we'll use the loops on our other loom

I had fun making pot holders when I was a kid, so I ordered this to try it out again. The first thing I noticed that's so different is that this came with a crochet hook instead of a long thin metal hook. The problem with that is that it makes it a lot harder to weave the loops through. You can't fit the crochet hook all the way across if you want to just pull the loops through, so it does take a little more effort. It still works well, and the pot holders turn out very cute. It doesn't come with all the color loops that are shown in the box. I didn't receive and white or yellow. The instructions are fairly basic. They show pictures of some patterns that can be accomplished, but don't show how to achieve the different print looks, so you will have to look those up if you want to try anything like that.As for the loom, it feels strong and sturdy. The hooked prongs to a pretty good job of keeping the loops in place. The loops are decent quality and there are a lot of pretty colors included. All in all, it's a really fun and nice kit to get into an easy craft.

The useless is part of a craft activity in my room that was done as part of an award. The students who got to use this loved it. It was easy to use and easy to follow the instructions.

I've already purchased a second one of these since my grandkids both loved making these. They had no idea what a pot holder was, but want to make more. They both loved picking a pattern out of the many ideas in the directions. The only problem with that was there were not enough loops of one color to do the pattern as shown in the directions. It was hard to talk my granddaughter into substituting another color for her design. (so now I've order extra loops - hopefully they continue to enjoy this).The frame has a little hook on the top which is a BIG help with keeping the loops on the frame. It is hard to get them off of the frame. These loops stretch but don't seem to stretch enough to remove easily. The kids are 7 & 8 years old.

I was an 80s kid and loved doing these! So much so I made a whole quilt!I thought it would be fun for my seven year old daughter but seems a little difficult for her. Not sure if that is the right age for this….The kit includes everything you need and the loom itself is nice and thick so shouldn’t break easily! Literally an exact replica of what I am used to!I’m going to keep trying to get her to use it or I am going to do so myself :)

Fun and easy to do craft. Perfect for practice weaving and fantastic for young children. Helps with hand eye coordination and with creativity. Offers a wonderful array of colors. Easy to use.
