This 2 piece set of quick release shackles from MQQUFF were decent quality for the price. They do work well enough but compared to other ones I have used, they do seem slightly less durable but for a much lower price. The release pin action is a little rough but that is probably due to the black painted finish or unsmooth pin. It does work and the shackle stays securely closed until you pull the tab but I am not sure how it will hold up over time. The leather pull tab is thin and feels like a weak point as well. It seems to have a reinforced fabric on the handle's backside but just makes me a little nervous.

I really hate to say this, but I ordered from two different listings, and the other one was better. Here’s why:Finish: The unfinished silver ones from another listing have a great finish, but these appear to just be painted black. It will likely wear away quickly during use.Pulling the pin is not smooth. It feels a little rough when it moves, as if the inner surfaces are not smooth.Leather Strap: The strap on the other one I ordered is a solid strip of leather, at least 4x thicker, and fastened with a larger rivet. It will likely last much longer, and be less prone to break. The leather strap on these shackles is a loop. You can put your fingers through it and pull. It will break much sooner than the other one ever would (not that the strap is meant to carry any load - this is just a comparison). See photos: This one is in the back in the photo with leather straps, and on the left in the photo showing rivets.Ring: The ring connecting the locking pin and leather strap is welded closed in the one from another listing. This must be to ensure it will never accidentally snag on something and risk separation. Just a guess. This one is not welded. This is a very minor detail, and I’m not sure if it even matters, but I did notice.If you want these for light-duty use, they will probably work just fine. However, if your use is heavy duty, you may want to consider another option.

I don’t fight fires, but I needed a quick release for my trebuchet, and for that purpose these are excellent! One came looking a little corroded, slightly gritty spring. A little oil cleared both of those things right up. The internal spring makes the pin resist spinning, over oiling reduces that but doesn’t make it go away.The ring acts as a retaining wire for the release pin, so can be replaced but not super easily. You can see some scuffing on it, which is to be expected given the function. They both work very well as quick releases. Easy to operate.I can not comment on the ability of this product to work under fire, my trebuchet is for recreational use only. I also can not comment on this working when hot, as I do not use flaming projectiles. It does work under tension.I assume one could use this for something other than a trebuchet release.

This SCBA Quick Release Hook Set is heavy and sturdy, but the Release Pin is rough and thin. The jaw delays in opening compared to the Raw Metal 316L quick release SCBA Clips I own and use. It seems to be made of Decent Quality Materials and has been working OK for me. I'll be using these for out Camping and Fishing so they will be used. I'm not happy with it and don't recommend it for on the job use.

Perfect size for my belt and I can easily detach the dog when I need to send him out or when I get tangled.Works well and locks secure.In the future I will replace the leather pulls with a longer custom remove before flight tag.Thanks!

These clips are really nice! They are heavy duty and super sturdy. These look exactly as pictured and consist of solid, heavy black clips and short dark brown leather lanyard. I am not sure if it’s genuine leather, but it feels good, very soft and smooth. The release is incredibly easy and can indeed be done one handed (even by me and I can open almost nothing with my hands because they are so messed up from mobility issues)! I actually got this to use with my service dog and it will work perfectly for that purpose. I know these are designed for fire fighters, but they have multiple uses. Five stars for sure.
