Functional tool to measure the bitting of a Schlage key, depress the retaining tab to remove door knobs, and even to remove retaining C clips on the lock cylinder. Seems to be an authentic Schlage tool.

This gauge correctly indicates pin sizes. The other aftermarket gauges are not as accurate.

It does the job but the picture is misleading as I was expecting a gauge without ridges. I posted a pic of the gauge I received and one of the gauges we already have installed on a machine for comparison. Not the same and the one on our machine looks exactly like what is pictured. Not sure why Schlage decided to switch it from flat to ridged but atleast update the picture.

Purchased another kit which included the c-clamp remover tool but was too wide to use on the Schlage keylock that I had so purchased this real Schlage tool instead. Be advised, you will need the follower tool as well. Worked as expected!

Tried it with 3 original Schlage keys with the pin numbers and it measured all 3 perfectly.I noticed there were many fine scratches on mine and then saw that the inner bag was missing the staple the factory puts on the bag. The staples holes where there, but no staple.I was sent a used one.Do to the principle of the situation, I returned and instead ordered the multi-gauge for several brands of locks on Amazon and at the same price I paid for this Schlage-only gauge.So receiving and returning a used one was, a blessing-in-disguise of sorts and it all worked out.

Worked well with all the Schlage and Dexter by Schlage keys. The key in the Prime-Line re-key kit for Schlage was a bit off, but trial, error, and logic makes it happen. Rekeyed every locking door using several sets. I thought I was purchasing one gauge, but the package came with four. "Gage" is a less common spelling of "gauge..." but, who cares, makes no difference!
