Comfortable and looks good. I had to remove extra padding from inside, to make it fit. Great helmet.

I bought this in 2015 and leaving this review in 2019: Saved my life. The last mile of a 20 mile ride, 1 mile from home, I crashed on the last turn on a bike path when my front tire got stuck in some soft sand and the rear flew around and threw me off. The rest of my body was really messed up and I was bedridden for weeks but my head was perfectly fine… not even a concussion and I was thrown head first! I was told by the paramedics that if I survived without my helmet, I surely would’ve had a traumatic brain injury. I feel like this helmet saved my life. I have to say that I am upgrading and buying a much more expensive helmet for my new one. An extra few bucks is well worth the safety. Thank you Schwinn for producing an affordable, comfortable helmet that protects the noggin! So grateful and thankful to be alive. By the way, I always found the helmet very comfortable and my head never got too hot. Great all-around basic helmet.

This is a very pretty helmet that fits nicely over my head with a chin strap that is long and adjustable enough to fit comfortably. I have a small head, but my husband tried it on with some adjustment, and it fit him, too. There are two places to adjust the fit: one is in the back of the helmet...a nob that turns to reduce the straps/size inside the helmet and the chin strap. One thing I like about this helmet is that there is enough room (with adjustment) to wear a hat (baseball or other) under the helmet.Update: The pretty exterior part of the helmet fell off after a year. I am gluing it back on.

A marvel of cost-effective engineering! The light weight, super aero hard shell allows tons of airflow. Really, this is one of the coolest helmets you can wear. The thing weighs barely anything. The straps and backrest of the helmet are super adjustable, and will fit tweens to grown men to Andre the Giant. There is a velcro lining with some fabric attached to it. You can use that velcro to attach helmet adjustment pads from other helmet kits, though you probably won't need to.It is certified by the "Consumer Product Safety Commission" which is a legit US Federal agency.I recommend this over any more expensive helmets unless you intend to be crashing a lot!

This helmet is $15. Okay now that we have gotten that out of the way, this thing is great for the money. It weighs practically nothing, it has all kinds of vents for those hot days biking, and it is adjustable. The guy who said that this helmet would only fit a small child either has an incredibly large head, or hasn't discovered the little wheel in the back that tightens and loosens to your desire (the helmet is delivered with the wheel all the way tightened). The only way I could see this helmet not fitting is if you are a very large man with an extremely large head, emphasis on extremely. The design attempts to make it less ugly, but let's be honest; it's a bike helmet. Of which I have yet to see an attractive one, especially for $15. But you know what's even less attractive? A smashed head on the side of the road. I give it 5 stars.

I gave this helmet to my 18 y.o. son to replace his old one, dinged up in a crash. The new version is lighter and better ventilated, but still quite inexpensive. It's easy to snap on and easy enough to remove, too. Fortunately, Schwinn helmets seem to perform quite well in a crash, too. My son's old helmet had an ugly scrape on one side (better the helmet than his head) -- we were advised to replace helmets after any significant impact, so this one is the replacement. The sizing is very accurate - if you measure; it should fit fine. The best part about lighter and better ventilated? This helmet gets WORN... all the time, now, too, since the last one got scraped up. Funny how the ruination of just one helmet can make even the young see the rationale for using a skid lid ALL the time?! Obviously you can spend a lot more money on a helmet, but you really don't need to. The Schwinn is tested/certified/etc. and works. I'm protecting a big investment in college tuition now, so I make sure that brain of his is safeguarded.
