They were not as strong as I thought, and they both broke. Are use Scotty rod holders and mounts for everything, but those ones are not very strong.

Used this Scotty Post Bracket to mount my Garmin Stiker 5dv finder. Outer holes lined up perfectly but had to enlarge the Garmin Bracket holes slightly to accept #10 screws. The Scotty bracket requires #10 nuts in order to not spin. Perfect!

It works as all the posts do, fitting securely in the mount. I gave it only two stars because I found that the recess for the nuts was not substantial enough. When I tightened the bolts, the nuts rotated and stripped the recess. Now I cannot remove them. Don't over tighten.

I needed to mount a Hummingbird 678c on the bow of my 13-foot Boston Whaler. It already had a female Scotty deck mount in place that I wanted to use. Since this product does not fit the Hummingbird, I made up an adapter plate using a piece of 3/8 inch plastic cutting board that I found at my local hardware store. The result was good. The Hummingbird is strong and stable, and is positioned correctly so I can see it well from my fishing seat; however, I since found that the Scotty 368 Compact Universal Fish Mount would have fit the Hummingbird without the need for the custom adapter plate. I was not aware of that when I made my purchase.

This bracket seems very sturdy and fits well with the Scotty 244 flush deck mount.However, some important things to know before buying it:1) Like another reviewer mentioned, it does NOT have a solid top like it does in the photo. It has a hollow top with some screw holes. (This didn't matter for my purposes, but if it matters to you then keep this in mind.)2) Also like another reviewer mentioned, don't expect this to fit your fish finder. It didn't even come close to fitting my Eagle Cuda fish finder. The holes are so far off it's ridiculous. I was ultimately able to make it work by buying a larger flat piece of plastic and screwing it to this bracket. I then had more surface area to screw my fish finder mount to. So in the end it worked, but not without significant customizing on my part.
