My daughter cracked the screen on her Acer Chromebook and rather than replacing the entire thing, a friend recommended buying a replacement screen and helped me find this one. Installation was super easy. With the help of a video tutorial, I easily changed the screen out by myself in about 10 minutes. The screen worked perfectly after installation. She was happy to have her Chromebook back and I was happy to have saved money. I would recommend this product to anyone

This was a direct, drop-in replacement for a cracked screen. I did my research to make sure that this is the exact replacement, & there have not been any surprises.The kit came with a small Phillips head screwdriver, Exact-o knife, tweezers, & plastic prier. I needed only the prier to remove the trim piece & double-sided tape from the old monitor. For about 50 bucks, you get some bonus tools along with the actual product. You don't think that you'll ever need an Exact-o knife? You will.Some online instructions instruct you to heat the back of the old display with a heat gun to help separate it from the 2 sided tape. DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN. It is not helpful & in fact will PROBABLY RUIN SOMETHING. I learned this the easy way. Using the prier was enough to carefully separate the tape from the old display in 1 piece, then reuse when popping in the new display. Even if it ruins the tape, it's easier & less frustrating to get new tape.Final note: make sure that you match the brand, model, resolution, touch screen versus non. Apparently the connectors are that specific.

This replacement screen was a fantastic buy and includes all the tools you need. I consider myself moderately handy and it only took about 25 minutes for the repair. I had to get the instructions from a Youtube video, but after finding one, it was pretty easy. The trickiest part is removing the old screen without damaging the tacky glue on the sides since you need to re-use that. It would be nice to get some replacement glue, as I wasn't able to cleanly keep all of the existing glue intact since I used a hairdryer in place of a hot air gun. That didn't seem to impact keeping the new screen in place and I am very happy with the result. The new screen looks as nice as the original and you cannot tell the difference. Fixing the screen saved me the money for having someone else do the repair or purchasing a new Chromebook!
