It says it has an 8mm female thread, i purchased for my scuba choice spear with an 8mm male thread and it didnt fit. I also have a female to male 6mm thread converter from scuba choice and it also didnt fit. So its either an inbetween size that scuba choice doesnt have or it was made deffective. A waist of time and effort to order and return to have it be deffective.

Great spear tip, you may want to modify the barbs as we did with a pair of pliers as the barbs are quite large and make it difficult to release the fish into the zookeeper. Squeezing them down with pliers helps remedy this situation. Otherwise well built and do the job.

2 of the barbs were extremely loose and seemed like they would fall off after barely any use. Sending back and won’t buy again

Mixed results:- 5 star ability to stun and grab a lionfish. I used this for 5 days in the Caribbean hunting lionfish and never lost one. Each time it hit the fish was stoned and was not able to get off. If you hit the fish it is not going anywhere.- 1 star ability to get the fish off the tip with the large size barbs. Getting the lionfish off the tip and into the keeper was always a challenge. I had to get a knife or use a spear from another diver to get the fish off. It was a chore and the fish were pretty torn up by the time they got off. I recommend a 3 prong tip with slightly smaller barbs for easier extraction.- 1 star ability to hold up. I lost 2 of the 5 prongs in 5 days of use. Both times they stuck into the lionfish and would not come out.
