I own a lot of Scubapro regulators, both piston and diaphragm, but I prefer the diaphragm first stages. The MK17 EVO is a great first stage for all diving conditions, but especially for cold water and technical diving. I also prefer the DIN first stage for diving the cenotes in Tulum and Akumal. The DIN first stage provides a more solid and safer tank valve/regulator connection than a yoke first stage, which is preferred for overhead environments. The MK17 EVO has been more or less subplanted by the MK19 EVO, which is really a MK17 EVO with swivel ports, much like the MK25 EVO piston first stage. If you don't need the swivel ports, the MK17 EVO is a more compact and less expensive way to go IMHO.

Don't have any issues with this regulator, have been using it for awhile now. Has a good track record and I don't have any free flow issues in winter water. This is my second MK17, I have another one that I've been using for half a decade. I have nothing bad to say about these, they're great.

Suite à mon N4, j'ai dû remplacer mon mk11 par le mk17. Je plonge essentiellement en eau froide et le mk17 fait correctement son boulot.

I have owned the same first stage since 2007. I finally decided to order a replacement. I have done several dives in Monterey (CA) and Kona (HI). I have the following connected to the new, first stage.- ScubaPro transmitter to G2- ScubaPro 2nd stage- Console (dive computer, pressure gauge)- ScubaPro Air2
