plug & play for windows, thats great and so is this item...things you dont know you need until you do. I had a bunch of older cards laying around and no way to see what was on them but this device solved that problem--very happy and its a good price too

This gadget comes with a handy 6" USB cable, making it super easy to pop your micro-card into the reader. You can plug the micro card straight in, or if it’s in an adapter, there’s a spot for that too. While you can usually find a USB port on your device, a micro-card adapter port isn’t always available, so this device really adds to the convenience.

I tested each of the connectors, and I could access the storage media as expected. As usual with accessing cards, be careful when handling them.

This is a typical SD card reader. It works to read standard size SD cards. I haven't tried the micro-SD option, but it's nice that it's provided. I don't know if other readers would work or not, but if it was a little less wide it could plug in next to the USB-C slot when a cord is also plugged into it, but on my work laptop they're too close together.I like that a string is attached to connect it to a lanyard or keychain, but I wish it was a little thicker to be more durable.

Works as described. Too bad Amazon packed it with a 12 pack of water and the box was smashed entirely. Still works despite this, so that should be a testament to it's resilience. :D
