Use this needle file set for removing, refining, reshaping, and scraping projects that require detail precision work on small surfaces and tight areas—includes dipped handles to ensure a firm grip for the best control, as well as (6) of the following file shapes to achieve the desired effects:
Round — for enlarging round holes; filing a bevel on curved edges; cleaning out tubing
Half Round — for filing the inside and outside of rings, flat and curved surfaces, tight areas and corners
Knife — for filing grooves and getting into narrow slots, keyways, acute angles and wedge-shaped openings
Square — for making round holes into square holes; refining slot corners; filing flat and straight angles
Three Square — for filing corners, holes and edges; cutting less than 90-degree angles
Equaling — for filing corners and slots

Many common file kits only have three options contained in this kit. The semi-circle cross section file feels good, and it is my most often used file. I am not experienced enough to know the best uses of the other files, but i can be secure in knowing that i have the options if necessary.

I totally misjudged the size of these files. I actually laughed when they arrived and thought I would have to buy a bigger set. But to my surprise I have been using them for all my filing needs and they perform well. It is a handy little set.

One broke first use, I've used plenty of needle files before without issue. Maybe don't be too forceful and they'll work alright. You get what you pay for!

I ordered these for fine trimming on some wood carving projects, and they have done their job very well. The variety of shapes is really nice in getting into those hard to reach places, and the durability is good. They are easy to use, and do a great job on woods that are super hard or soft! I have used them on many projects around the house since I purchased them, and they also work well on metals. I have only tried them on softer metals, but they really worked well! They have a very fine grit, so the item comes out pretty smooth. I didn’t need to do much more smoothing work after using them. The pouch they come in is good for keeping them all together and organized. I highly recommend these for any project that needs precision, and fine filing work.

These are great. They aren't really strong, but you shouldn't be applying a lot of pressure when using them anyways. I use them for modeling and it lets me get to the harder to reach places. Having different shapes helps me be able to have a file for every occasion or situation.
